MindTravel is a collective journey for both artist and audience. In his live performances, composer and pianist Murray Hidary transports us on a journey that is at once expansive and transformative. Inspired by mystical traditions and theoretical physics, his provocative, improvisational, real-time compositions with the piano and art projections, leave audiences in a state of harmony and clarity. MindTravel has been performed outdoors in parks around the U.S. and Europe as well as in such revered venues as Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Grace Cathedral, The National Arts Club and festivals including Wanderlust, Carlsbad and Burning Man. Hidary has also pioneered a live 'silent' piano headphone MindTravel creating an immersive music experience. He recently scored the music for the documentary REM about iconic architect Rem Koolhaas, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
About Composer and Pianist Murray Hidary
Music is at once primal yet aspirational. It satisfies our deepest needs while raising us to our highest sense of self. Composer and pianist Murray Hidary is the creator of MindTravel. His post-minimalist, improvisational, real-time compositions with the piano and art installations are inspired by mystical traditions and theoretical physics, take the audience on a transporting and expansive journey. It is an exploration in translating music into our daily thoughts, words and actions. To carry forward the lessons of music into our lives. To live with harmony, clarity and rhythm. Murray studied Music and Composition at New York University. His compositions also include orchestral and ensemble work. He is currently touring Mind Travel as well as scoring a feature documentary. His mentors and influences include Paul Alan Levi, Dorothy Lawson, Paolo Tatifiore, Ravi Shankar, Keith Jarrett as well as composers Philip Glass, Steve Reich and Terry Riley.

    i got to see / be with/ hear / meditate with this guy very recently in an amazing desert setting and it literally changed my life. words can not describe the level of peace you can derive from listening to this.
