    Byron Katie is a charlatan and it was the height of spiritual generosity that Kabat Zinn shared a platform graciously with her.

    I think if we relax and let the events of life take place then the energy either negative or positive will process and that’s the surrender and we feel lighter and enthusiastic and keep the Energetic Heart open and make sure that we are taking loving care of our inner child. I love all these spiritual teachers❤️❤️❤️

    What Jon said towards the end was so profound. The audience felt it. When Byron Katie started to speak, the audience applauded Jon. He was so humble in his response. The dance between him and the audience was a magic moment. Thank you for this, I felt it too “the more fluent the dance” wow 🙏🏻

    WOWSA. Today i heard from an old client that I did energy work on. I had refered her to Jon Kabit Zinn's work and recommended MBSR. It changed her life. Anyway, when she called me, I thought of referring her to Byron Katie's work and wondered how the two approaches would help eachother and if jon and katie ever met. I literally just came across this out of nowhere!! Thank you universe. Im so moved by this affirmation.

    4:47 "If you want a little fear and terror, get a future. And just in case that's not enough, if you want a little depression, get a past. And notice how you react when you believe these thoughts. You're scattered. But it's ok. Just notice who you would be without what you're thinking and believing, that judgement in the moment."

    I found most of this persuasive, but didn't understand why Katie considers the universe "friendly"? I experience it as neither friendly nor unfriendly, or maybe both?

  • @AfricaX

    @AfricaX

    Does this resonate?: If the universe is a projection, then 'her' mind must have come to see / project a friendly universe through questioning any thought that would point toward / project an unfriendly universe. If every stressful thought is questioned and seen as not true, it would leave the mind resting in itself / at home in itself / at peace, content, grateful. A clear mind, left with nothing but gratitude, must then project a friendly universe.

    Speaking of acting like a child…Byron Katie wants center stage. If she had her way it looks like she wouldn’t give Jon one second to talk.

  • @willowway42

    Byron Katie is enlightened. Little doubt about that. Sometimes, this many years later, she sometimes entertains opinions which seem ill informed to those who know better. But the concepts she shares are from a place of awakening. The problem we have always had is when people try to somehow capture, systemize and/or comoditize someone else's 'enlightenment', things can go seriously arry. There is nothing wrong with Byron Katie... no more than Jesus or Buddha. And just like with the latter, there are truths in the teaching. However.... Jesus is not the Bible , Buddha is not the Diamond Sutra, and Katie.... is not The Work. Just imho.... Bless ♡

    There are a lot of old tapes, the rose is cover picture, it's Allways in the now, I am listening to them every day now, and sometimes she shares these insights, it's amazing, I am fishing for those and drinking them up. Went to see her in Vienna, she is pure energy beam.

    Please... so much judgement! Those who judge are projecting their own negative disease. Can that possibly be true? She's working for those who suffer, and knows exactly what she's saying even in what is not her venue.

    Thank you but I'll take a PhD who studied for years, worked in hospitals and made a lifelong depth study of mindfulness over a woman who had one epiphany and started marketing herself as a guru. Poor Kabat Zinn, very game of him to share the stage with this charlatan.

    "A friendly universe???" How did this woman earn a seat next to Jon Kabat-Zinn? "Universe" has come to take the place of "God." And a "friendly God?" Impossible- if you listen to world, or even local news. I found her offensive in her "White Privilege." Has she been to the ghetto lately? How "friendly" is that universe? Her comments were anything BUT universal, and I can't see where they could benefit anyone. By contrast, JKZ is always concerned with helping others- inclusively- to find inner peace, and thereby to create a more loving world.
