It's crazy that Glorfindel is better in combat than Elrond but because I didn't position him well he did no where near as much as elrond

I missed out on there first wave of releases so I'm either going to wait for them to come back or do a lot of conversions to make the 9 king's of men as they were turning from men to wraithd and use them as my black riders

Great battle! 750pts makes for great tactics

During the Aragorn v Erestor fight, Aragorn used a point of might to make 3 wounds. But that was after fate had been rolled. Don’t you need to elect to use might to change dice before fate has been rolled?

Not if the model is reduced to 0 wounds like it was. If a model is reduced to zero wounds it is immediately removed from play. So the order of operations is that he needs to pass his fate or be forced to remove the model however the combat is not resolved so the attacker may still alter dice until the combat is resolved completely. Had errestor not taken 2 wounds you would be correct however.

I don't agree with Halfway Done. Technically speaking all Strikes are made one after the other, we simply never play it that way because of time. This means that each Strike will Wound, before moving on to the next Strike. It comes up so little, but when it does, it is game determining. Especially for scenario's where a specific model has to kill the target. In theory one has to spend Fate before knowing how many Wounds will be dealt in total. So if you play with the gentleman's agreement, which almost everybody does, to simply roll them all at once, I feel (and everybody I've ever played with) you cannot "go back" to change your mind about Might.

I love these battle reports! But it would be nice if you could briefly explain the game modes you’re playing in the intro for the noobs (yes, me)

Did Aragorn back away an inch after the round when Elrond won, killed a guard and warrior? Elrond was trapped, won the fight and Aragorn should’ve backed away... because the next priority, Elrond ran 6” directly away and should’ve been 7” away from Aragorn, instead of exactly 6” after Aragorn sling shotted off the heroic combat.

This is true, good catch. It's good to film these games and have these pointed out. Even though I play this game and compete in tournaments all the time it's easy to miss small things like this that can make a massive difference

Great game mate, spectacular batreps keep them coming. That’s what you say down under right? Mate? Weird because that implies you’re breeding with your friends.

Do you think bringing so many big heroes (Elrond, Glorfindel, Radagast) instead of more warriors is the right way to go with Rivendell? The elves have a hard time getting kills in general and don't really seem to win that many fights overall due to sheer weight of dice against them.

I loved this one, sound quality and camera work were exceptional. Do you think radagast is worth it over Cirdan and ~5 more elves? You'd also get to keep your army bonus and he still has aura of dismay!

rivendell is green alliance with white coucil. no loss of army bonus here.

Great video, only nitpick is that that last combat between Elrond and Aragorn could not have happened lol

Really cool battle report. Not a fan of any of the bases (blue rim does not blend well and the red tiles do not fit with the gold), but I love the paints and definitely found the inspiration I was looking for for my elves. I'm also stealing the idea of recycling my Dol Amroth shields for the guards of the fountain courts ^^ Do you play them with another profiles in a fiefdom list as well ?

still learning the rules and making my gondor army but im sooo excited, its a pretty big army to around 1500 points :) ... but also doesnt elrond get to use foresight to re-roll priority rolls ? and if youre within 1" of a models control zone dont you have to charge that model? so @27:35 wouldnt aragorn not be able to charge radagast ?

"Wait, who's Good and who's Evil?" That's the commentary I love. I do kind of miss the old tournament/competitive style where everyone brings two armies, one Good and one Evil, and each round is assigned which one to play. Makes stuff like Army of the dead somewhat more useful since they aren't going to run into Elves who laugh at their points cost and keeps Riders of the Dead from just mauling the various C2 Evil armies with Instill Fear

XD You need some elf spearmen. Elves really struggle without being able to stack a couple of dice.

At 22:30 Elrond used Wrath of Bruinen, ALL enemy models should have been knocked Prone. It doesn’t only give Str 3 hits, but also knockdown. You forgot 😊

Don't worry we remembered. A lot of the troops were able to stand up straight away but in the combat phase Elrond struck against the two that were knocked prone so doubled his strikes :)

Hi, I have a question. I wanted to come back to LOTR SBG and wanted to start with an Isengard Army (cuz I also had a small one mamy years ago and gave it away) In the Games Workshop online shop few sets that i could be potentialy interested in are "temporairly out of stock". Are they actually only temporairly out of stock or they just don't make them anymore and it's just bad labeling? I would really appreciate some help, thank you!

The temporarily out of stock come back but sometimes it takes a few months. The best way to get started is with second hand models. You will be able to find almost everything for Isengard easily. I would recommend jumping in one of the middle Earth buy sell swap pages on Facebook

I'm wondering, why aren't you using more spears? I'm quite new to the game, but I love playing elves, and so far I noticed that having de facto 3 attacks with F5 (front warrior, support and banner reroll) usually guarantees that I win most of the fights.

22:30 I feel like I see this type of move all the time and I’m looking for clarity. How can Elrond wrap around the Warriors without first entering a control zone? Seems like there isn’t enough space between Knight and back left Warrior. Mainly just curious about how strict the 1” Control Zone is.

Once you enter a control zone you are able to move while within it which is what would have happened in that case.

Thanks for the comment. It actually came out in an errata that its range was reduced because it was too powerful with a 6" range

Nice batrep! If I can offer one point of feedback: at around 16:30, the music gets a bit too disruptively loud for my tastes.

Did Elrond not do his Forsight points?..

In this timeline, Elrond went back on his promise that Aragorn could marry Arwen after becoming king.

Enjoying this battle report a lot! Only one minor thing that almost wanted to stop watching this is the music. Its a bit too loud, dramatic and all over the place. Other than that, great video!

Cirion has strike? Could have stopped Elronds heroic combat if and thats a big he gets to f7 and rolls a 6... with effectively 3 mightable dice and a support. Otherwise great effort by elrond rolling plenty of sixes and aragorn boshing some key rolls.
