Milwaukee Tradesman Knife Comparison

Going over the Milwaukee Tradesoman knife and comparing it to the MoraKniv Companion and the Ontario Knife Company Cerberus. I found this little red knife at my local Ace Hardware store and decided to pick it up for $23.99. So far it has been a decend knife, but will it make a decent bushcraft or survival knife? Lets find out! Its made of AUS8 steel and is full tang so it definitely has potential.

Where did you find AUS-8? I'm not saying anything to the contrary. Even the packaging just says stainless

I love the Milwaukee for work and hard use. And if I ever lose it or destroy it I can just stop and pick up another one from the hardware store on my way home for another $20 which is great. The Morakniv is more refined for precision work like hunting, fishing, ect. And is alot of fine quality for a great price. Both are fairly equal in quality and price for $20 each but they are both for different purposes. Ontario stuff is some of the best if you can afford them. They are some serious american quality and a whole other level and one of my favorite companies! But I’m not taking an expensive Ontario to work haha

the milwaukee tool knife is to be considered a "job site" knife not bushcraft, but in that situation its better than nothing.

Thank you for an excellent informative review. I have 2 Milwaukee Tradesman knives on order. After watching your review I just ordered 2 Morakniv Companions. One will be a gift for my son. Once again, thank you for an honest (not fan boy), informative review. Greatly appreciated.

The Milwaukee knife that you purchased is the lesser steel probably 420 stainless, and 420 is your standard made in China steel not the highest grade steel more of a middle of the road from what I’ve heard. You are reviewing the $15 knife; the greater $80 knife that Milwaukee makes is aus8 steel it has the black oxide blade, hence the price difference. Over the last several months I’ve been volunteering as a blacksmith and trying to learn about different qualities of steel. I’m sure it’s a very good tool for processing Wood or softer materials. I don’t think I would rely on it to hold an edge for a super long time and it’s probably easily sharpened. Also there’s nothing in the sellers description that talks about aus8 steel the lesser knife. Know your facts

You obviously haven't tested the milwaukee. There are way more videos of it going through s*** that would break the $150 pet knife
