    Are these able to run off of either other battery banks or plug directly into like a car outlet?

    They can run off other battery banks, like I explained with the bosch as long as it fits the connector. Plug into a car? Um no I wouldn't suggest that or try that.

    Great review! Questions about the battery controller. Every Amazon review states the 2.0 controller shuts down frequently. 1. Does it stay on for you or do you have to keep switching it back on? 2. Will it charge an M12 battery successfully? Thanks!

    Thanks for the comment. I don't know what you mean by '2.0' controller so i'll give this my best shot. When buying the heated gear, there are 2 different battery holders that milwaukee uses. The first one is basic and included in the 'clothing only' kit, that's the jacket/vest without a battery. Once you plug in a battery, plug it into the clothing, nothing else needs to be done. There is no 'on or off' button or switch. They're very plain. They have had shorting out issues in the past, the battery isn't effected or the heated gear but it won't turn on. I've experienced this a few times. The second holder is the one that comes it the fully kitted gear(clothing, battery, battery holder) this one has power buttons and charge points but pull does NOT needs to be turned on once a battery is inserted. and plugged into the clothing. Simply turn on the clothing as usual. Hang tight i'll make you a video explaining this.

    Just got one yesterday, i think it’s a bit large , do you think i should get a smaller one and wear under the hoodie?

  • @ProToolsApproved

    I'd get a snug one and wear it over the hoodie. The tighter the heated gear the better it works. That's how I wear mine. I'm 5'10" 200lbs I year a large hoodie(it's snug) and an XL vest over it. It gets hot. If i'm just wearing a hoodie, I wear an XL, it's still a little snug but it's comfortable to wear and works well, but not as good as if it's completely tight against your body. The tough shell jacket I wear is an XL, its much looser, BUT has double the heating elements in two zones, it's PLENTY warm alone, too hot most of the time with the L snug hoodie under it. I'm more than warm personally with the hoodie and vest down below freezing, in the 20°-40°F weather. Anything colder it's jackets time. Hoodie or vest alone is good for anything below 50°F down to the 40°sF. JUST my personal opinion, that being said, i'm ALWAYS cold. When other people are comfortable in a regular t shirt or hoodie, i'm always dressed in heavier clothes, bad circulation or something.

    Is it supposed to get the same amount of heat in the front as in the back? I feel like the chest area doesn’t get as warm? Or did I get a faulty vest?

  • @ProToolsApproved

    @ProToolsApproved

    7 ай бұрын

    Well, I can almost promise it's not faulty. It's all about how it's being worn. First off, how are you wearing the vest? What clothing under/over it? When you're saying that you can't feel the chest, are you sitting? Working? Driving? Keep in mind the back heating element is very large compared to the smaller chest elements. Where you wearing it on a mild day? I'll help you figure it out.

    How is this for durability compared to the tough shell? Thanks!

    Very similar. The vest is my go to item when it's cold. The current generation out now is def more durable than the previous model.

    @@ProToolsApproved which would you recommend? The axis or the tough shell?

  • @ProToolsApproved

    @ProToolsApproved

    Depends on your needs/location. I'm in New Jersey where winters get to about 0° and the Axis is plenty warm for me. I have the tough shell but find it's honestly a bit TOO hot at times. My go to combo is the heated hoodie and the heated vest. Layering is key for me. Just remember, when buying ANY heated gear, it's gotta be snug. If it's not touching your body you won't feel the heat. I often wear a regular hoodie under the axis vest, the vest being snug over the hoodie, I can feel the WARMTH of the vest, but not nearly as much as a snug heated hoodie directly over a t shirt.

    I have the tough shell jacket, i'll make a video for you with it in the next day or two. Help you make your choice. I honestly find it so nice, I wear it as my winter jacket, like out to events and non work wearing. It's great looking, feeling, fitting. It's great all around

    Nice video man! Amazon has literally no reviews on this. Use Milwaukee tools all day every day where I work so charging isn’t an option. Question is….battery life. Should I have two batteries for an 8 hour day?

  • @ProToolsApproved

    @ProToolsApproved

    7 ай бұрын

    Cool thanks for the compliment! No option for a charger? How about a milwaukee top off? Charge your m12 batteries from your m18 batteries? But to answer your question! YES! well! Depending on what you run it on. I pretty much ALWAYS run it on high. And i'm getting about an hour per AH on high. 2.0ah battery 2 hours on high. 4 hours medium 8 hours on low. Full 8 hour day on high, I use 3 batteries like clockwork. A 3.0ah and two 2.5ah. For the vest or hoodie. The jacket uses more power having dual zones. Hope that helps!

    @@ProToolsApproved Thanks for the info! I meant to say charging isn’t a *problem. Sorry for the confusion. We have chargers going all day everyday and for tools we only use M18s so there is always an open spot on the charger for a M12. My vest is on the way!
