Milwaukee Radio Repair (M18 JSR DAB+).

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I repair a Milwaukee M18 JSR DAB+ Radio.
It has a slightly unusual fault where the control panel locks up and the display freezes when the volume is turned above 0% volume.
I also ordered some replacement audio chips from China, to try to repair the unit. I suspect they are fake as they don't work and don't measure correctly with a test meter. I ordered a slightly different equivalent part which worked perfectly!

Thanks Mike. If you still have problems give me a shout as I've repaired 2 of these with similar faults but different causes. Check my other video just in case it's the other fault.

Awesome video yet again.. so if you had just changed the zennor diode would that have fixed it ? have you repaired one yet which doesnt work on battery but does on 240 ?

Thanks 👍If I remember right it was the volume control IC got fried by the faulty zener (hopefully this is the right video as I've fixed two of these) The other one was a faulty transistor for the 240v switch over which seems to be the opposite of the fault you describe although it may be useful still as I'm sure I work out where different voltages go.

What is your opinion of "power screw drivers?" I find mine to save a bunch of time and they (i have 2) do not over torque the screws either.

I've never been a fan of them, I always like to feel how much pressure are on the screws. Perhaps I'm just old and stuck in my ways 😂😂😂😂

Too Bad you Don't Have A Magnetic Dish. They Realy Come In Handy. Cause when I'd Take Something Apart Got So Tired Of Loosing Screws. Then I Seen One Amazon I Thought I'm Getting One Of Those. & Now I'm Glad I Bought It.

Thanks for the suggestion Roger. I actually do have one, but normally use it when working on the cars or tractors. The blue mat I use actually has magnets built into some of the compartments around the edges (I just keep forgetting to use them 😂😂😂😂).

Hi. I have the same radio JSR dab+ never used outside only in the house and not moved. All of a sudden the dab signal keeps dropping out making it not possible to listen to. Many thanks for your interesting videos.

Thanks 👍I'm not sure what could be causing the signal problem. Are any other DAB radios having the problem? Could it be interference from an external source?

Unfortunately not, the speakers would only be rated to take a certain amount of power. You would need to fit a larger (or external amplifier) with some larger or external speakers connected to it.

Hi, sorry I don't actually run a repair shop. My video's are to help you to be able to repair stuff yourself. If are wanting to have a go yourself I should be able to help or I can offer advice.

The part that I used to fix this radio is this one here: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/293243389191 It's a PT2314 which is the same as the original SC7314 just by a different manufacturer as the SC7314 I received seemed to be fake. But before ordering parts I'd check what power is going to that chip. Is the 22ohm resistor burnt? I fixed another radio with a SIMILAR issue, but it was actually a different problem. The problem on the other radio was a relay not clicking in due to a blown transistor on the power supply. Do you hear a "click" from a relay when you turn the radio on when plugged into the mains and you turn the power switch on the front on? If so then that transistor would appear to be working ok. Hope that helps!
