Milwaukee Quick Lok Reciprocator Attachment 49-16-2794

In this video I check out and test the new Milwaukee Quick Lok Reciprocator attachment model number 49-16-2794. The reciprocator attachment allows for close proximity grass trimming without marring surfaces or throwing debris. The Milwaukee reciprocator attachment can also be used for lawn edging and brush cutting with a 1/2" cutting capacity.

Shines as a hedge shaper / topiary shears as well.

Looks way better than changing string all the time.

I cut a lot of brush, and definitely like that it's MUCH safer than my current carbide tooth brush blade... but I just can't justify the $400 price tag 🤦‍♂️

Interesting. Yeah, I need someonething that can handle, like, grass that is up against a building, fence, and a brick wall. I don't really need an edger or a hedger. I guess I will look into it. Not having to change string and being able to cut the thicker things faster, without having to grind, sounds awesome. I was thinking of getting the Stihl Kombie system, but now I am having second thoughts. It's $636 to get a weed eater going. I'll check the price, on this. Thanks for taking the trouble to demonstrate. If I can get away with 2 or 3 hundred, I'll be really glad!

Yes it’s also handy where thrown debris from a string trimmer could be an issue. For example I have a client property where one of the neihbours has an accounting business that is run from home. One of the accountants always parks their brand new white BMW in front of my clients lawn. So I always have to be so careful not to thrown grass or mud and rocks at the side of the car. The reciprocator does not throw any debris so it’s good in situations like that. Thanks for watching.

Look into the Idech power scissor. I was using a string trimmer to trim Zoysia that I cut with a reel at about 5/8. It was very time consuming to try to trim at that height without scalping. Also, because the trimmer tears the grass, the areas that I trimmed had a white haze for days. I purchased the power scissor, my trimming time is reduced by 90% and areas trimmed look as good as what I cut with the reel. It weighs about 4.5 lbs but you can let the unit ride along the grass as you trim. There is really no need to hold it above the surface like a string trimmer. You will see videos of it used for edging and in some rough places. I use it solely for edging, I don’t want to dull the blade. I purchased a used Milwaukee trimmer shaft on Facebook, removed the head and attached the power scissor. I should have done this years ago, but just discovered the power scissor. Couple of months ago.

Hope the blade quality is better than the Husqvarna version, which I bought for my 535LK! The power unit itself is fantastic, but the attachment is poor! Also, in this years catalogue, it's priced at £479! 😮

While I find these "reciprocators" interesting, the price is just atrocious! The attachment in this video is 399USD at Home Depot. For Canadians, if/when it becomes available, better be thinking about 600CDN after taxes! Just for the attachment alone! In Atlantic Canada, where I am, more like $650 after HST. I also wonder about how these things can be sharpened?

Similar to edging with a string trimmer but a bit heavier. I would not recommend it for edging just because it will wear it out quickly. Especially along pavement. Thanks for watching.
