Milwaukee Packout 15 Inch Structured Tool bag - First Impressions and Loadout!

I bit the bullet and picked up the brand new Milwaukee Packout 15 Inch Structured Tote. I'll run through a few of my thoughts on the bag and show how I have it set up for my line of work.

    I have one, very impressed how much stuff I can get into one. I'm a general contractor, so I need a variety of stuff. I carry this and my pack out backpack and I'm set for most jobs

    mines like a year old and really showing it, zippers are starting to suck, tape and tape measure holder is failing, handles on top are looking like they are tearing. And some of the pockets in main area are just useless. everything falls out of the lower pockets. Bag tips over more than me on a wild friday night. Definitely retiring it within the month

    Thank you for the video A/V tech as well (most of the same tools). This helps in my decision process. Overall how heavy do you think it is?

  • @zebuloncarpenter58

    @zebuloncarpenter58

    Fully loaded, I would guess it's in the 35-40lb range. It would definitely be pretty heavy if I didn't have wheels, but since I usually just move it from my van to a cart with my packout drawers, it isn't bad. Having it secured to the rest of my tool boxes is a lifesaver.

    What’s the measurement from the bottom of the bag to where the handle starts/can fold over? Love the bag, but fitting things under a Tacoma bed cover is a challenge sometimes.

  • @zebuloncarpenter58

    @zebuloncarpenter58

    I just measured it, and it is about 16" high with the handle folded over and the strap split over the handle. The main compartment of the bag is about 15" high.

    Looks short. Long shank drivers could be a problem. Veto ain’t loosing any sleep over it. Copy of a Veto MC. Wonder about the warranty. For an extra $20 bucks get the Veto.

    Depends on how long you need. Six-inch screwdrivers fit in the opening flaps just fine. Depending on the size of the grips, eight-inch would be doable. Veto makes great bags (I have a few), but they aren't able to click onto your Packout system. That's the real selling point on this bag. The bag has a "limited lifetime warranty" according to Milwaukee's website. I'm not sure what the limitations are, but after a few weeks of use, I'm not worried at all about longevity.

    How deep is the compartment, thinking of getting this to replace my pack out backpack. Really tired of the backpack falling over Everytime I go to open it. One of my must haves is a 19oz estwing though so curious if it will fit a medium sized hammer

    The internal pockets are about 13 1/2" inches tall and about 15 1/2" wide. If you're dealing with longer tools like hammers and large wrenches, I think the open top tote would be idea.

  • @wookiescookies
    @wookiescookies8 ай бұрын

    Do you think the side with the bigger pockets is large enough to fit one or two power tools if the pockets aren't being used? I typically like having my compact impact driver and oscillating multitool in my tote and that's what's stopping me from purchasing one of these bags

  • @zebuloncarpenter58

    @zebuloncarpenter58

    I think it comes down to what kind of tools you need to carry with you. I think the 10" would be great for plumbers and guys that need a lot of larger, longer tools, but who don't need as much organization and small part containers. The 15" seems more geared to technicians with smaller or more specialized tools.

    Toughbuilt makes good bags for the money, but the last time I checked, they don't make anything that is compatible with Packout connections. That's the real draw here.

    There are worse designs to copy. I wouldn't claim that this bag is a groundbreaking design, or that it does something (outside of the Packout feet) that Veto bags don't do. I think that Veto is still the standard by which all tool bags are judged, but I also think that this bag stands up to that standard really well. The big advantage of this bag is the compatibility with the Packout system, as well as the Milwaukee warranty.

    @@zebuloncarpenter58 I wasn't complaining, I like the competition. I use a Veto Pro Tech MTC daily for work and liked from the beginning how I can quickly reach for my tools and how they are organized. There is no "perfect" bag but Milwaukee may bring on some heat from other makers. Good review!

    No, you don't get a five year warranty. You get a lifetime warranty. I don't know what the exchange process is, but I'm guessing you can just take it back to Home Depot for a swap, which is way better than dealing with shipping stuff back and forth from Veto. As I said repeatedly in the video (if you bothered to watch it), the quality is fantastic. It is easily on par with Veto.
