When Torque Test Channel mentioned that the latest 1/4 impact driver from Milwaukee was failing they got several people unsubscribing from them. Milwaukee got some serious fans. I doubt you would have that problem though, you had mentioned several times before that this is nowadays a DIY brand. Glad that some youtubers speak with the truth.

Im a Makita fan, but know their older Nailers are total crap. Mostly cause they are powered with cheap DC motor. That said, I know that they will make flops. With Milwaukee and Americans, its the pride thing. Older blue collar workers build America on tools like Milwaukee and hence is was passed down as the American brand. Even now that its owned by Chinese and their quality is close to DIY.

Yes Sadly Milwaukee power tools are just a more expensive version of Ryobi as a lot of the parts inside Ryobi are the same as Milwaukee ....

Until the last few years, a lot of my tools were cheepo tools, even after saying that, I didn't realise how many tools are actually fixable. The big thing I've learnt from this channel is to check what spares are available for a tool BEFORE I buy it.

Dean speaks the truth Milwaukee is now CRAP! and if people are unsubscribing from channels like Torque Test its because some people dont like the truth.

Milwaukee have gone full Chinesium with their tools, the build quality seems to have gone down hill the more popular they became. its just become the Red Ryobi made by the same company doing the wide range of products to maximise profits.

Honestly the way it's built you may as well just use a dust buster witch may have higher quality for around $30 here in the us. What makes this even more stupid is that tti who owns milwaukee, aeg, ryobi, rigid, homelite, and hart also own hoover, dirt devil, oreck, and vax. So for a company that is owned by a parent company that owns 4 vacuum companies they make this disposable trash that you can't get parts for.

About these motors, there’s 1 company in China who makes 95% of all the vacuum motors in the world, I forgot the name, but I used it for a Philips and Samsung vacuum. In both cases an original was about 50-60€ ordered in China 15€ exact the same, free shipping

Enjoy all the videos , used all the good makes for 30+ years , my first Milwaukee tool was a 110v recip saw , I bought it because it had a heavy iron flywheel and I speak to the lads on every site ( ones than can speak English ) about the cordless gear . My saw is still going strong , like ye says though tools like this are for hanging on the Xmas tree .

The other problem I'm seeing is a lot of plaster or sheetrock dust, most vacuums specifically warn against sucking up that fine powder, it gets into everything and turns to cement at the slightest amount of humidity. dyson had an issue with that for a while (I used to sell them at Sears back in the day.) hand vacs where never designed to be used in a construction environment, they are meant for a quick clean out of a car or toolbox, they are sold as pro-sumer tools not that "willfukyee" has ever been a pro tool since they got bought out years ago by Techtronic Industries, who also happens to own Cryobi and like 4 vacuum brands (Oreck,Hoover,Vax,Dirt Devil) Modern tools sold at most home improvement stores are just junk designed to fail.

Had one, sounded like a leaf blower when turned on. Sold it after a few weeks. Hepa was also expensive, 35$ where i live. Got a 40v makita stick vac now... Easy to disassemble, cheap filter, cheap parts, easy to clean, light... Havent looked back since.

I ve got 2 makitas one is double of the power to the other and definitely worth the extra money.

Way back when I was a young carpenter in 89 or so we were building 3 story condos and I was cutting the roof edge and right at the peak got tangled up somehow and dropped my new Milwuakee circ saw straight to to pavement and it looked like it exploded. Turns out it just bent the hell out of the plate and the saw runs strong to this day. New tool designs are great but not built to last

Not anymore my friend, theres plenty of "new" bosch machines they make it unworthy of fixing by listing crazy prices like 100eur for motor or switch+controller kit on a 150eur machine. Otherwise the consumables parts are pretty good tho, last month I bought a new chuck for my sds drill, 15eur with shipping 24h they delivered it to my door. Things like brushes are always in stock and cheap.

It's not about the older machines though, Festool, Makita, Metabo have most of the parts for their older machines, you can even still get some Elu parts from Dewalt. It's the newer machines that has become this disposable trend. Mainly because of the brushless motors and all the electronics that comes with them. You can still get those parts from Bosch/Festool/Makita/Metabo and to some extent Dewalt, Milwaukee is the worst though; not even being able to get the essential parts even when those parts alone cost mostly half or over half worth the money of the tool itself.

Great to see that you speak the truth! Milwaukee has surprised me. I wonder why the warranty is only 1 year in Irland and UK and five here in the States.

I bought a Milwaukee Plh 32 Xe Rotary Hammer second hand from a Pawn Shop online to do a core drill job... was cheap and I thought it'll do the job (and it did)... but when it arrived I saw it was made in Czech Republic and was an older one, I heard Dean's voice... "When Milwaukee was still good!" :)

So said that Milwaukee the only brand who does Plumbing tools, like pipe slice, M18 Transfer Pump, M12 Bandsaw, Drain Cleaner etc, like Battery coredrill with MX battery. Quality not the best but no other options at moment. I wish Makita start doing them soon, love my Makita tool, absolutely beast all of them 8 years old SDS 18v still running never repaired. That would require Makita to reach out to customers and ask them what products they need. Or, the very least, look at a competitor’s catalog. Y’know, things that all of their competitors do.

I just had a new milwaukee m18 sds plus 32mm drill split open after the first use. I had it replaced under warranty but milwaukee do not give any extended warranty on replacement tools.

Looks like it would have cost about £15 to make. Paying for the name. Much better and cheaper options available.

Imagine thinking the retail price of a product is related to the cost to build it. Lol. Business expenses, profit, and retailer profit are a huge portion of the price. If it did cost $15 to make, it would need to be sold to the retailer for $50, and sold by the retailer to the end user for $80. It sells for around $125.

You only care about reparability?

Got a 35 ltr stainless HEPA vacuum for 100 euro's.on sale. Things sucked at least 500 kilos of concrete and drywall dust. Bulky like a good old soviet era appliance. Those little vacs are toys.

Well it serves a different purpose. It's not going to replace a full sized shop vac.

Willfuckyee? Yes, indeed they will. I found team red to be generally unreliable with very, very poor after sales. Team Yellow or Teal are both good enough for pro carpentry & joinery in my experience, take your pick but forget Milwaukee.

Have you done any repairs on Erbauer sanders? The ones with the pointed end?

Here in New Zealand, Milwaukee reps go site to site offering swap outs. Give up your Makitas, Dewalts and so on and Milwaukee will give you a good price for full set. Its something like 30% off full price. Im a builder, i know alot of builders who have done the switch and have regretted it. When they fail it costs a fortune to repair or cant be repaired at all. I have never had issues with Makita, when they go wrong its always an easy fix. Stick to what you know!

when a deal is to good to be true, that's because its not a deal. you would have to be bananas to trade in your good tools for Milwaukee. Not only because them dont last. But because it leaves yo with no backup. No professional would do that, only armatures and apprentices who havent learned yet.

I've got a couple older M12 tools, they small hydraulic impact gun, the angled impact gun as well (tiny) they get into the very small spots. Both were given to me if I could fix them, both had a shoddy battery connection. So, I kept them. Otherwise, I'm not really interested in the Milwaukee cordless tools. I'm ok using a cord, I have a nice small Honda generator and it runs all my tools just fine. It's nice having cordless stuff, but I'm ok with a good heavy duty extension cord and my generator. I guess I spent a handful of years building decks and fences down in Florida a while ago and I learned how to deal with having no electricity on any job I was ever at. A good quality generator will save you SO much money in batteries and honestly much weaker cordless tools. Yes, M18 has a few very nice heavy duty machines today, my brother has the entire line of high power M18 tools, he's a millwright, does overhead doors - and the BIG ones, but eh.. I like my cord!

You could extend the life of your vac by replacing the filter before it tears up and let's dirt inside where only clean air should run through.

I've had to strip and clean out a number of Dyson vacuums over the years (mains and battery rechargeable) even they are better made inside that this. The V6 for example is complex to dismantle and the plastics are rather thin. But they can be carefully dismantled and cleaned out. I did see a Makita 18v vacuum cleaner which seems to work OK. I would avoid this make based on what Dean has said. Some of the tools are very powerful, but I prefer the reliability of Makita.

Ware is the makita radio I like makita radio’s in your video’s

Techtronics are the owners of Milwaukee.. based out of Hong Kong/China, they produce many tools including Ryobi and Rigid (under license from AEG).

I wonder if something like is worth for cleaning a your car or for hobbyist

I have a DeWalt vac, it’s smaller than the one in this video, but it has the same type of paper filter which gets clogged up very quickly. Its main use now is for cleaning the van and small messes elsewhere - you wouldn’t want to be cleaning a house with it or a very dusty room. Even if you had plenty of batteries to do so, the constant cleaning of the filter is a nuisance. Did consider buying a set of filters so that they could be changed during use and cleaned out together later - haven’t got around to it though.

What are the alternetivs for cordless vacuums?

I have my Reasons why I only buy Makita. Recently got a HS7611 from a Friend after it stopped working. He bought himself a Milwaukee that failed 4 Months later while I had the Makita back up and running with a new Field, Fan, Cable guide and a Duct for around €50. For stuff where I know it will break the tool or at least harm it, I usually go to Parkside. They are cheap and if they fail it's fine.

I think you are right to protest against, non recyclable, non repairable, environmentally unsustainable devices. We have to waste more of the planets resources making new ones to replace landfill. Myself I would have tried to crack into the motor. Probably not safe for a business to do that. -10* for Milwaukee.

im in the US so the warranty process is a little less painful than what you have to go through but watching these videos has really put me off from buying milwaukee tools

There is 5-6 manufactures that make all power tools, there is a video just search, it’s amazing how people think there all independent manufactures. I have a 20 year old Milwaukee 110v sawsall, just brushes and a power cord, it will live forever. That is quality, they don’t make them like that anymore.

I am a Milwaukee fan and I have many of their tools - mostly M12 but a few M18 as well. I have that vacuum. It is a piece of crap. It is loud, the accessories are crap and it doesn't have any real suction power. Use it for 5 minutes and the filter is completely clogged and you have to empty it out and clean the filter, which creates a bigger mess than the one you were trying to clean up. I usually just go inside and grab my Dyson.

So the moral to the story is buy professional-grade equipment staying away from the other piles of junk. When you're trying to go cheap trouble you reap. In my case I buy the old Made in the USA tools mainly.

I can understand why some are fans of certain brands and dont like anyone running them down. I get putting your countries product's first. The tools however cost a lot of money which we have to work hard for and i just dont want to buy something that is impossible to repair or a waste of money and would rather listen to the repair guys ( non- affiliated with any company) giving their feedback.

Milwaukee - only good in the states with the 5 year warranty. And even then the Brand should be avoided since a tool breaking within 5 years is still no good especially when they are basically unrepairable unless its bearings or another very simple fix. I have a wee Bosch 12V Vaccum that also only has a cheap brushed DC Motor. Not impressed with that the Motor is starting to wear out. Now opposed to Milwaukee Bosch will sell me a Motor but I'm not going to bother. I try to buy brushless whenever I can and get stuff that fits my Makita 18V Batterys. Tired of throwaway tools? Buy corded Bosch, Metabo and Makita. I still find it laughable that Milwaukee wants to establish themselves in the professional market in Germany. Not at those failure rates and throwaway tools. Besides they will never dethrone Hilti, Bosch and Makita which are the most common powertool brands in Germany.

Since the company does not offer spare parts for sale. In that case, it is worth considering buying several such vacuum cleaners and then disassembling them and selling them for parts. If there is interest, you can make money by selling parts. But it is rather unprofitable due to the commissions charged by intermediaries - the auction portal, payment system, shipping. And finally, tax. Then it is actually better to buy another new one, if anyone needs such impractical devices at all. I'm not an environmental protection fanatic, but looking at such devices, we waste a lot of energy and pollute our planet unnecessarily. If the device was designed solidly and had spare parts, it could serve for a long time. But producers don't care about this, because they pass on all costs, including environmental ones, to customers.

Wer in a world thats driven more an more by greed, if a war started they would call on every able bodied man to fight for the country. Why bother getting killed or maimed for dem greedy bunch.

Admittedly I am generally a fan of Milwaukee tools and I actually own this vacuum. It's not my favorite, but I bought it to replace a 90s era "dustbuster". The form factor is a bit strange and it's too big and unwieldy to be easily used. However, I think most of the issues the unit you worked on were cause by misuse of the tool and running it without a filter. All the beads jammed into the bottom of the vacuum would not only kill the suction but cause the motor to overheat. I agree that Milwaukee should supply more parts, however with the price of repairs most tools are disposable these days....my local tool place charges $70 just to bring a tool in before they ever try to repair it....with parts, most tools aren't worth repairing unless you can do it yourself.

Milwaukee is amazing. Plus they repair the tools you buy. Why does he have it? Unless the owner stole it or something. Then they won’t honor their lifetime warranty.

1 year, extendable to three years if you register within one month from the time of the purchase as specified in the video. Non-transferable and no lifetime warranty. The only lifetime warranty (expected lifetime of the tool itself) I can find from Milwaukee is for hand tools.
