Milwaukee M18 Propane Heater: What you will like, and what you might not
I recently did a first impression on the new Milwaukee M18 Propane Heater, but I had more time to use it this winter and here is my follow up video as to what I like and what I don't

It takes a few seconds because it's heating up the safety heat sensor. That sensor will shut the gas off if it's not hot enough. Once the pilot heats the sensor up then it will allow the gas to stay on. Your diesel heater doesn't need that delay because diesel liquid is not as dangerous as propane flowing out.

@@ToolReviewZone 👍You Da man, except your channel costs me $$$$ It’s funny, I didn’t even know I needed a tool until I seen on your channel !!😂
Thanks for sharing, I just grabbed one! The only other tool that I have from Milwauk-eye-A that you can plug into the wall is a tripod light.
Brother man great video as always. Hope your holiday was great. Can’t wait to see what you do in 2024!

Will be a great year Mike, and happy new year to you as well brother
Thanks! Nice product and overview. That would be useful to help thaw out a snowblower. Milwaukee has heated jackets and coats too. I'm waiting for them to release electric socks and long underwear.
I couldn't find a Ridgid when looking for an emergency propane heater but settled for a Ryobi (looks just like the Ridgid). I put in a Ryobi battery- fired it up and put it away. Milwaukee 70K BTUs and Ryobi 60K BTUs.

They must have discontinued the ridgid 😪
I’ve got the big 128,000 btu unit for the shop. I run it on a smart power plug so I can turn it on from my tiny home. I manually turn it off and get it ready for a morning turn on so I don’t cut the power while it’s running.
I've been using this for couple months now for heat when I smoke on my deck. I believe the instructions say you are supposed to hold that button down for 15 secs but I think I might have an anomaly because I literally only have to hold mine down for 2-3 seconds and it stays lit. I was truly curious why the instructions said so long but maybe that's actually the norm for this guy. Certainly not complaining
Milwaukee heating things up. My wife’s outdoor fireplace is like that.
I can’t find one of these in any Home Depot did they discontinue them? I even went on the main Home Depot site and typed in Milwaukee 18 V propane bullet heater and it comes up with nothing. Thanks for a great video.
Great video once again. I purchased one after your last review. The issue I am having is not with the unit but the propane tank freezing/icing up. Have you had any issues like mine? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Insulation blanket and keep the tank topped up. Maybe try a bigger tank if that doesn’t help.
What's up Clint? Have you a side by side comparison to the Dewalt heater?
Read the instructions, it works just fine. The delay is a safety feature.

Not saying it doesn't work, I'm saying that it just takes much longer than all the others I've used
I’m like 414! That’s Milwaukee area code. That’s real nice like 😅
I bought the Ryobi brand one because its the same thing and cheaper by about $75…but you have to keep the button pushed down for 5 seconds also. no big deal
Hey you flipped the handle! Only M18 tool I give a 10/10 simply because you can use a lead instead of battery.
I'm gonna sell propane and propane accessories if my grades are good enough.
New gas safety standards just like an indoor appliance. 20 seconds on the button. I was going to get one of these but it's $100 or more than the other brands. I can get a much higher BTU heater for the same $. I wish they were more competitively priced.
Pretty much every propane appliance and heater ive ever used requires you to hold the ignite button down. Its a saftey feature, it needs to be held down long enough to heat up the thermocouple. If the thermo couple isnt up to temp and you let go it shuts off. You wouldnt want propane spewing out of the unit if your flame goes out and its set to high
You are so awsome.!

You are!
The few different heaters my boss has are gas and they have a cord only feature and you have to hold the nob down for a few seconds after you click it on or it will die out so this is not just a milwaukee product that is like this just saying. Would it have been nice to eliminate holding the button down? Sure,if it's a big deal to u,yeah it would be nice, but I don't see it as being a big deal.
What would be awesome is if someone made one with a thermostat like the kerosene heaters. I use my dewalt 20v to get the garage up to temp and a 5k electric to maintain temp because the propane will get the garage to hot even on low

What kind of 5K electric heater? If you don't mind.
@Papaws_Garage

@themountainjake it's a 240v ceiling mount from amazon or menards around $125.believe it's a comfort zone,but they're all pretty much the same.
You are holding the igniter until the thermocouple heats up. That’s all. Same process as tank not gas water heater when lighting the pilot.
How does it compare to your ridgid propane heater?

What's up Ron!!!!!!! Basically the same unit. The Ridgid starts up a bit faster, but I like the started on top of this better cause it's easier. I'm not even sure I'd they make the Ridgid anymore 🤔
First Ryobi not Ryobi came out with one, then Milwaukee not Milwaukee, who’s next? Hart? Ridgid?
Hi flint her can I find some vegan cookies love the video

Amazingly the one tower light they have also can use a cord. Turns out people actually like using cords when it makes sense.

Milwaukee dislikes the cords very much lol
Seems like a pilot light.
But can you cook hotdogs with it?

Now I need to try it
I love mine, however anyone else notice the flame dying down after about 5 minutes of running? Maybe my regulator is defective?

Hmmm, that's strange. .ine doesn't do that, so maybe something is off 🤔
Not to derail this, someone has noted there is a Ryobi version, not sure if that's dual-power, but DeWalt has one (or did?) of these that's dual-power as well. Just another option depending on what platforms you're in (I'm not in M18, but am in DeWalt; I have their heater and it's very similar, it can CRANK heat)
Instructions say to ignite on high.
