One pound of propane contains 21,548 BTUs. So in a cylinder: 21.5k * 15 lbs = 322k btu, and then 322k / 70k = 4.6 hours on high or 322k / 30k = 10.7 hours on low. It's worth noting that kerosene is nearly 1.5 times as energy dense as propane, which usually makes it the cheaper option. Even with a slightly higher price per gallon.

Thanks for the video and review brother. I like that it is compact. Sure beats those kerosene fueled heaters. I have one that is probably 25 plus years old, 3' long. With the cost of Kerosene now days it gets expensive to operate.

Those kerosene heaters kicked butt, but they stunk, and they went through fuel pretty quick.

I've got the Ridgid version..I've had it 6-7 years.. still works great.. Use it everyday in my garage during winter... 9:13.. you don't need to hold the ignition the whole time it's clicking.. just a few seconds..it will continue to click for 30 seconds after it is running. Doesn't hurt anything 👍

Any valve especially water is good to tighten a little after open to save wear and tear on the oring.

OH YEAH I BOUGHT THIS A FEW WEEKS AGO AND I CAN SAY FOR ITS SIZE IT PUTS OUT A GOOD BIT OF HEAT. HEATS UP MY 420 SQ FT GARAGE/WORKSHOP FROM 30 DEGREES TO 70 PLUS IN ABOUT 15-20 MINUTES THEN I PUT IT ON LOW AND IT STAYS AROUND 70. A DEFINITE GREAT BUY.

@shanerogers787 It all depends if you have it on high the whole time you might get 5-6 hrs on a 20 lb tank. I use a 40 gallon, and I've ran it for at least 10 hrs, and I still have about a ⅓ of a tank but I use it in my insulated garage gets up to about 68 - 70 degrees quickly and then I put it on low the rest of the time and it stays warm

Thank you! Been waiting for this one! Purchased the Ryobi a few weeks ago as I couldn't find the Milwaukee at the time. One thing I can say is the controls being ON TOP of the unit is worth the extra $$$ hands down. Getting down to floor level to adjust or fire up the Ryobi is a pain. With that being said, that one is only 60k BTU and this one 70k. Will I notice a difference between that alone and is it worth returning the Ryobi for the Milwaukee? Not using any battery just plugging it in so not caring to much about that portion.

The Ryobi is almost identical to the Ridgid We have 4 of them as the first two had a thermocouples issue-Ridgidnsent two replacements and havn't had issues We put two after market thermocuolers on the older ones and they now all work great Milwaukee pisses me off with the all battery power tools when hybrids are possible and more useful They have been replaced by Metabo HPT in many applications cuz of the great 36V line giving great performance, warrantee and AC adapter capability at better prices

Got the Dewalt version and love it, a 10 lb tank for more portability and yes obviously less run time

Please bring back the r8224 or whatever it is…. To be honest when Ridgid discontinued it I thought there was going to be an M2 version released and with rigids 12 V line being completely dead. It’d be nice for Milwaukee to step up and do the right thing For their orange brother ya know tti’s redheaded step child 😂 I just wished Emerson didn’t own the Ridgid power tool division as TTI would without question dump more R&D into the brand and release more tools. I have always had a liking for Ridgid for some reason. The octane line was great the 3ah octane batteries are still in the upper echelon of power tool batteries, may not be the stacked tabless packs but the 21700s do quite well and the 3ah form factor was on point then even bluetooth cycle count etc just a great pack and to be discontinued and still be competitive at minimum shows something was wright with that line not to mention the r86212 may have been the model idk it’s been a minute but that high torque was a monster for its time

You should do a reel test like put it in a cold shop or shed and see how long it takes to warm them up and see how long it runs. Thats a real test and it will let consumers know if its worth the money?

yes dam milwaukee needs to step up the drill game. a palm drill like that would be nice and they need to update the dam m12 right angle drill lets get it in fuel and 1/2 chuck

YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO HAVE SOME VENTILATION FOR THIS. I HAVE A SIDE DOOR WITH A SCREEN I LEAVE CRACKED OPEN. OR YOU HAVE TO GO WITH A VENTLESS PROPANE HEATER BLUE FLAME I HAVE USED THOSE OVER THE YEARS ANS STILL DO.

It should be safe with some ventilation or outside air, but make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector in there.

Looks like a nice unit. I wish they had put in a carbon monoxide shutoff like some generators have because let's face it people are dumb and will absolutely poison themselves given the chance. Anyone buying this needs to pair that purchase with a carbon monoxide sensor. A nice one costs $50 and will save lives.

This heater concept has been around for decades. I was using these in the 70’s. If it were dangerous, it would be off the market… Carbon monoxide is the product of incomplete combustion. This combustion is total and only produces CO2.

Question as it's not clear anywhere, will this heater work as a normal heater WITHOUT propane when plugged into the wall?

No it’s a propane heater. Not a electric heater.

What is the CFM’s on the fan

The fan doesnt blow into the combustion area haha. It blows around the shell

Again Mikeaukee let us down again by making this a battery only We have the Ridgid version which is hybrid and the exact copy Ryobi which went for $149 Unfortunalty the Ridgid had thermocupler issues on first version but Ridgid replaced them so I have 4 units as Ridgid sent me two new ones and let me keep the old units We put an aftemarket thermocoupler and they work great

It's not battery option only. It is a hybrid meaning it has a corded option to plug in. The battery just makes it convenient for portability.

Unlikely that it will ever happen. This design has been out for sometime and having a pilot light constantly running is the design that manufacturers use (Flame King) and it just doesn't work well.

I gotcha man. My Ryobi one 24" in front of it, 18" above it, closed garage. Full blast 66.8db. 50% it was 62.1 and all the way down 58.9db. Pretty quiet honestly. Can't imagine the Milwaukee is much louder. All these new cordless forced air heaters are pretty much the same.

Ridgid is a seasonal brand selling seasonal items, except drills, lights, impacts and vaccum the rest are seasonal. See this heater, cordless compressor, 12v line, cordless miter saw, light stand, job site stand and more.....it is ridiculous when one item has low sale then they cut it....and where is cordless table saw? Also Ridgid pro battery cannot use on regular power tools, the brand has bipolar personality, I am looking for propress but battery is not compatible and adapter is not perfect solution. I am a long term Ridgid user, some how we adapt to what they offer because of SLA?

The new Ryobi is basically an upgraded copy of the Ridgid unit The Ridgids had trouble.with the thermocuolers I had two of them replaced by LSA

I tried to buy it at Home Depot a week ago, they had 7 in stock on line an hour later no one in the store could find it. I was forced to buy a Mr heater and it's total junk!!

I saw 3 of em at my local ACE but they are priced at $299 Hell no I can get two Ridgid/Ryobis for that and my older Ridgid just kept my well from freezing when lost power for day and a half-6ah high output Battery lasted over 20 hours for fan(couldn't believe it)

Buy the dewalt it's a American company Milwaukee is a Chinese company

Dewalt is literally also manufactured in China. Do a bit of research. Plus the dewalt one is trash imo. Had a couple before I got tired of them crapping out within months. Switched to this exact Milwaukee and never looked back. But hey get whatever makes you happy I guess. To each their own
