I simply bought a grass roll size 4meter by 8 meter and rolled it across my garden. Costed me £400 and 6 years later. It looks great. Its bumpy and looks more realistic that a perfect I got the kids trampolineon top of it and all the garden toys.

Now if the back portion of the yard is sloped for draining, in other words theres a grade from erosion, should you try to make the whole yard level? Or just make it smooth and leave the grade?

Nice work! In the digging up stage, how would you deal with tree roots from neighbouring properties? You can obviously dig em up but do they not come back and unsettle the turf?

All the prep work looks great and to a good standard. A pity the grass looks like the sort of thing a market grocer might have on his stall.

This does look like a cheaper grade of artificial grass. The backyard does need a design to it with the use of trees and plants.

What if the sand gets wet ?

I see more videos of the ground prep with stone dust rather than sand , as time passed has anyone had issues with a sand base ?

Dust is better. Sand tends to move more. Only ever good for blinding...

They should put draining under the sand to flow out the raining water

Can you pay it with spread sand in the Astro ? Why spread the sand what’s it for ?

Dylan Moye the best option is to concrete a narrow boarder all the way around the perimeter and glue the turf.

I think it can be done with either nails or staples for the edging. Place nails every 6 in. On edge and nail throughout 2 ft apart, 6 in nails

chris ventresca not really I had it done by professionals I’ve also seen other jobs who as got same problems by other companies, first couple of years it’s brilliant but then you see weeds coming through then you get sick of weeding I had mine re turfed no more problems

Decomposed granite is ideal for compaction. Sand doesn't compact. But they added way to much decomposed granite, when it rains I will soak it all up and get muddy. This just happened to us on a job site. Half an inch of dg at the most, the Compaction to hold its grade.

The preparation was top quality but the grass looks a cheap one.

Definitely should use 9 turf nails did t see any in this video but I’ve also never used glue to do the seem just nails in opposite directions of one another

Your edges looked abit rough 🤔 did look a bit cheap aswell it had that reflective sheen on it. I've been laying high quality turf for 20 years now and can tell the difference.

Looked like sharp sand too for the layer base. Won't last. Unless it was grano dust but looked like sharp. Edges look un tidy

are they laying on sand? if so they shouldn't .should be laying on granite dust .when using sand if you have dogs cats etc the pee gets in the sand and it will stink .

Not sure what it is I don't like about this - maybe the quality of the artificial grass since I think the guys did a good job with the prep works. However, a company that installs such 'not-good-looking' grass, in my views, shouldn't make the pass mark

If you do the preparation work correctly you will not get weeds coming through, it’s been down for a good few years now and it still looks just as good as the day we laid it👌

Way too much DG in my opinion.

Tip. Don’t play that awful noise over the video. You must know it’s unpleasant surely
