Watching your video's take me back in that time. Seeing everything so personal left behind make me wonder if families leave their home on one special outing and have an accident and they all pass together. No one left to come back and save the items left behind. I love how much respect you show in these homes, there has to be more history behind them that we may never know.

Noticed that the “nursery “room with the crib was the only door that looked like it had been forcibly broken in possibly. This is a beautiful but eerily haunting episode.

Omg the mansion is absolutely gorgeous the artwork, design, architecture and decorating is just stunning ❤. Another great video Dave always enjoy your explore especially learning some history of the abandoned places you go. Keep up the great work Dave 🤘🏼❤️

Absolutely enjoyed this explore Dave. How sad a place of this magnificence is left for nature to take it over. So many homeless out there and these abandoned houses are left to rot. It makes so sense. So many people could live in a place like this. Bring a dozen families who understand homesteading and self-sustenance growing gardens, canning fruits and vegetables. Each participating for the whole community. Gosh the furniture alone could bring in tens of thousands of dollars. It's sad really to see this but thank God to AWE who is a good conscience explorer. Much love Dave. Peace ✌️.

I liked what you said and I agree with helping the homeless. I worked at The Salvation Army in Florida for 2 years. It was really very sad to see why people kept coming. Many of them are dealing with mental illness which has gotten so bad, maybe because Florida is warm and people can stay at parks longer or even all night. The SA does open its shelter when Temps dip down into the 30 to 40 degree range and they put notices everywhere that blankets are needed. We had some folks that came off the street just to get meds refilled. One man had Epilepsy really bad, with 20 + seizures each day. He was on meds but being homeless, he could not seem to come in before running out of them. Many times, he came in looking like someone smashed his face in with a baseball bat. I was told that his seizures are so awful that when he falls down into one, he usually lands on his face. There is no one around who would just hold his head. The seizure itself doesn't hurt a person, it's the head hitting the ground; when they land that can cause permanent damage. These very ill people do not want to be told you must go live in a shelter. Then there are rules for safety which they don't want either. We could offer help but who would sign up for a job to manage such people. I've often thought about all the abandoned mansions that Hollywood stars walk away from. They truly don't care! I may get brave and ask a STAR to deed their house over to me. I would offer it to move homeless folks in to see if they want to live with a few rules, to see how much they want to live in a nice house. Of course that's naive because you just can't know who might be a murderer!

Hallo (Dutch) Dave, two things, thank you for shaving that hair off your beautiful face, and thanks for making me cry...AGAIN. You, me and everyone watching, we just don't understand how this happens. Maybe if they had to flee and start a new life, they can't have anything of their existing life. If they were all killed, maybe a car accident, there has to be other family members to save their belongings. Dave, you have access to their mail, so you have names, is there any way to search on social media, at least for the children, if not this property, but for others that the children are now adults, and may have accounts. Anyway, another great find, thanks for bringing us along. Love from N.Y.

Maybe they didnt" leave" but were in a fatal accident while traveling and no one has been able to settle their estate. if they had no other relatives to contact. Or if they didn't have a mortgage the bank would not step in to seize the property and auction off their belongings. Just another example of how important it is to have a will in case the unexpected happens.

It looks like the couple in the old B&W photos raised their family in the home. The kids grew up and moved away. Grandkids would visit (recent colour photos and toys). One of the spouse’s died first (old walker). Then the other died. Perhaps house is being fought over (will) or property taxes/upkeep too much and kids wrote it off….

How does your team find out about where abandoned houses are and do you need legal permission to go inside, like via a registry service? Could you please explain this on a future video? Since you set up tours for yourselves in several different Countries, is permission required by each Gov't to enter homes or how does this work? I'm not asking because I want to do this myself but to have a general idea of the behind the scenes involvement needed to make a video happen. Thanks, I really enjoyed this video. It looked to me that the Frau of the Family was in the process of packing up her Brood when the Husband came home and said something like we all must leave right now. He possibly was in legal trouble or thought his circumstances may come to that. My Mother's Family fled East Germany just as the Russian Forces were on the edge of her Town in 1945 and even though they had practiced escaping, when it was time, it was still chaotic. They carried what they could on bicycles and wore xtra clothes, then escaped as bridges were blown up behind them. It took them 6 weeks to reach West Germany but they made it to the Allies and safety. The more you can learn about the Families whose homes you visit, maybe you could put together a short book on their story so they will not be forgotten.

What a sad story, families just disappear with no rhyme or reason. Some of the areas in the house look like they were just there doing their everyday life stuff, like when you were standing by the coffee pot in the kitchen, it looked like someone was just there. I hope they are all safe. Were their autos gone? Maybe that's a good sign. I'm amazed that the place isn't ransacked. Maybe the neighbors being close has stopped that from happening. I loved the video, your voice is very soothing and easy to listen too. Keep up your good work and stay safe.

That fuzzy wallpaper was "flocked wallpaper". My mother in law has it in her house. It was the rage in the 70's and 80's in USA.

I have a very bad feeling about this family. I just get the feeling something bad happened. I mean come on... who leaves without there teeth? This house just has to much left behind. Just entirely to much. Where ever they may be I pray that they are ok.

That what I thought.. why leave your teeth behind and what would make someone leave and never come home?! Possibly a car accident but you’d still take teeth with you when you would leave?!

The chandelier looks like it will soon be crashing down on the foyer. The wallpaper you're feeling is called "flocked". Thanks for the excellent video 😘

That's a beautiful home and the furnishings are high end. Everything in that house points to a younger family. So too leave that many belongings behind makes me think they must have had 2 homes that were fully furnished and both containing furniture, clothing and memorabilia because I just don't understand leaving all that behind. The place should be sold and the belongings sold off to people that could really use it.

My mom had a sewing machine like that. It was actually quite fun to learn to sew on it. Too bad I didn’t keep it up.

Hi Dave, I will never understand how so many places are still abandoned, I would think that after so many years of the property taxes are not paid ,that the government doesn't have a estates sail. Then new owner would live there. I have noticed that some places there belongings that had price tags, so it looked like they tried to clean it out. But instead it falls down from being neglected.

I live in S America, I was asking people here about some amazing abandoned mansions, they said it's down to family fighting over property, sometimes these disagreements go on for generations, the only winners are the lawyers.
