Million Dollar Cars - Bugatti Royale

Among those cars that are actually traded, one type is considered to be the world's most sought after, expensive and unique, the Bugatti Royale.
Many think that the Royale was the greatest achievement of noted race car and luxury car builder, Ettore Bugatti.
Bugatti was just trying to improve upon his mark and model and if you like beat the Duesenbergs, and Bentley's and Rolls-Royce and have the ultimate car in the world.
The Bugatti Royale is almost a mythical creature. They do, they do exist but most people haven't seen one.

I saw one of these cars at Harris auto show in Reno Nevada in 1971. Beautiful and BIG!

I am a lucky guy. Back in 1968, a friend and I ditched college for the day and visited the Briggs Cunningham Museum in Irvine. CA. We were alone in the place, so the curator let us unhitch the velvet ropes and crawl all over the cars, including his Royale and Duesenberg SSJ. It was a wonderful experience being so up close and personal with the cars. I became part of that exclusive fraternity of people who have sat behind the wheel of a Bugatti Royale. You did feel pretty small.

Here's a list of my personal "greatest automobiles" to ever exist. 1. GTO's, I mean.. come on now, they're the grand-daddy of classic muscle cars. 2. Corvette. (Classic day concept of a Lamborgini but instead they aren't overrated.) 3. Torino (Cobra jet & 500's) 4. Mach 1 Mustangs (best body-style and rare)

@@cx.williams1645 To me, Duesenberg is the only greatest American car manufacturer. I love classic muscle cars too, but they're not as great as those pre-war beauties. BTW, the 1970 Dodge Challenger is the best for me.

That's the most fucking metal and beautiful car I've ever seen, the Bugatti royale warship. I'd do anything for such a piece of work, I'll never even get to see one with my own eyes

Hispano- Suiza had a V12 Engine of only (!) 9.4 litre Volume in 1931. But it was enough to keep the royal customers with them.

I had a matchbox or hot wheels Bugatti Royale as a kid and remember reading the back of the box that only six were made. I've been obsessed with them ever since.

Watching the new "Bugattis", like the Veyron, is nothing more than a painful reminder that once things are gone, they are gone forever. Bugatti died the day Jean and then Ettore passed away.

Who cares if the king didn't buy it, the whole world has bought them. Bugatties became the real matchless icon dream cars in history for ever. The king was typical Spanish.

Ettore wanted to sell the car! . He wished to conquer King Alphonso of Spain, the legendary Hispano Suiza Racer and supporter. He knew, if he could bring him into his customership this would be the first place in the world of prestige cars. He failed to do so and there was never a crowned head driving the Royale.

A sedanica d' ville was originally a custom made coach with custom interior drawn by a horse. During the age of the classic car, cars with an open driver's compartments but enclosed passenger compartments were known as sedan de villes. Cadillac didn't begin using the name until the 1950s.
