Millie Bobby Brown Interview: From Stranger Things to Damsel

Ойын-сауық

There is no doubt that this will be the first of many Collider Ladies Night interviews for Millie Bobby Brown. Not only has her acting career been soaring ever since the debut of Stranger Things back in 2016, but Brown is also using her rising start to influence certain projects for the better as a producer. She kicked off the Enola Holmes film series at Netflix wearing both hats, and now she stars in and executive produces her latest ambitious release for the streamer, Damsel.
Brown headlines the film as Elodie, a young woman who agrees to marry a handsome prince (Nick Robinson) in hopes that his kingdom’s riches will help her family’s struggling people. However, nearly immediately after the two are wed, Elodie discovers the truth behind their union; his family is using her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. She’s thrown into a cave with a dragon, kicking off a story that subverts the traditional damsel in distress narrative. There is no savior. It’s up to Elodie to save herself.
During our Collider Ladies Night conversation in celebration of Damsel’s March 8th release on Netflix, Brown took a moment to look back on Stranger Things’ big debut, tease her upcoming film The Electric State, reveal the Damsel scene she feared she couldn't do, and loads more. Hear about it all straight from Brown in this Collider Ladies Night interview!

Assuming you're being a wiseass, she's not married, she's engaged and she's been with the guy for 3 years. They're a bit young, but they're also still adults with stable careers, so I don't see an issue here. It's none of our business anyway.

@@ChrisTheAspergerGuy I don't think u understand how life works The MAIN REASON people wait longer to get married is because they want to make sure they have their careers established And are making enough money....... If not for that .. Most people would get married at 20

@@madisynissaquah243 Yeah, no shit, Sherlock. Why do you think I pointed out the money and career thing? Obviously, Millie's situation isn't typical for most 20 year olds. What the hell do you think my point was?

@@ChrisTheAspergerGuy 20 is still the best age to get married ..... The longer a woman stays unmarried The more men she sleeps with The higher her body count The harder it will be for her to be SATISFIED with one man Rich or POOR ...getting married at 20 is the best option Unless ....You find a woman who will save herself until married .

@@ChrisTheAspergerGuy So if you tell a woman not to get married at 20 because of LACK OF MONEY What happens ???? She sleeps around more because now she's " just dating" Next thing u know she's 25-28 And has been "dating" different guys for 5-7 years ....BODY COUNT is high !!!! So now she's 28 with money and ready for marriage But GUESS WHAT ???? But now she's a 28 year old with a BODY COUNT AND MOST LIKELY A kid by then ..... Who the hell wants to marry that ??? SHE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN MARRIED AT 20

Great interview, cool to see Millie growing up and making her space in the industry. I have to say, this is the first time I feel like a person's accent inconsistency stood out to me - sometimes she says things with her British accent, and sometimes a more American accent. I'm sure I've seen performances that have inconsistent accents before, but they never stood out to me like in this interview, where I know sometimes a performer's native accent comes out more. I wonder how much of this has to do with the fact that a lot of her formative years happened while playing a character with a different accent than her family. I know some actors lose their native accents when they speak without them for so long, I bet this is similar. Mostly I'm just curious if I'm the only one who noticed this, or if I am just completely off base here, and if I'm not, what is the reason for it. Either way she's a great performer, looking forward to what she does next!

It's amazing how people demand zero quality, this girl is extremely overrated 😂. She has to clown over every social media to be noticed 😂. I remember Godzilla King of the monsters and her character was 100% irrelevant.
