Ha ha, so relatable.... weeeellllll, except for the novel concept that if we cut any or even all minor excess spending out of our life we could somehow afford housing? Sure. I may be making less than 20,000 a year, I'll be lucky if a crack den house where several people have been murdered goes for $300,000, and Rent alone is destroying 50% of my earnings; 15% on groceries; 15% on insurance; and loans devouring the last 20%; not to mention I'm just praying I won't need an emergency fund (even though I know I do). Buuuuut I'll just avoid tipping another poor soul who's getting less than minimum wage to save myself a couple bucks, to put into my housing fund HA. Fuck me man, a lotto ticket is a more realistic investment than a housing fund right now. I think the fact that millennials are spending what precious few dollars they have on what little joy they can squeeze out of this life and tipping underpaid workers is less a problem with ourselves and more a cry for help to the system at large. But fuck me, what do I know. Most of this probably isn't even relevant to this video since I'm coming from an American perspective anyways, it's (hopefully) better in Australia. Anywho, living in America this video comes off as existing in an awesome fictional world that I want to live in. I can only hope saving up for housing is actually feasible for millennial's in Australia. Because living in America.... the motto is "spend it while you can, cause you know your future is already doomed". btw love Aunty Donna! Zack's performance was as wacky and robust as ever, despite the content itself being quite bleak.

That's literally the point of the video. At risk of overexplaining the comedy; the "reckless spending" in this video is either completely reasonable (seeing a doctor, buying sandwich during a busy work day, living close to work or getting your shoes fixed) or is an incredibly minor expenditure (buying avocado on toast, buying a coffee for a friend, tipping wait staff). The point of the video isn't "look how recklessly millennials spend, no wonder they can't afford a home" it's "look at all of these reasonable spending habits which shouldn't prohibit someone from buying a home, yet are mocked by older generations". That's why they have the boomer character at the beginning giving nonsensical saving advice. It's a parody. Poor saving habits is often given as an excuse for young people not being able to afford a house, when in reality it's that housing is many times more expensive than back when the baby boomers were young. This video is mocking that attitude.
