4x and Civ-type games have had extremely simple boardgame-like economies for decades, a game that takes full advantage of the fact that computers can do math faster than a person is a good thing.

Anno 1800 had a complex economy and supply chain system like this.

@@paulmahoney7619 You explore the map with ships to find new islands, animals and artefacts. You expand by colonizing new islands You exploit by extracting resources, building up your economy and establishing trade routes. You exterminate by sending out your warships to conquer other players or buy out their islands with cash. Nothing states 4X games cannot have city management or cannot be real-time. It's not a turn-based strategy game, and it's not a civilization game, but it's most definitely 4X.

I really love that this game has Vassal Spam as a viable option. I love adventuring, warring, and painting the map, and I strongly detest managing enormous empires, so I'm very glad that vassal-spam and indirect control is an option in this game.

this game have better economy and more choice to claim territory than games that have years of DLC. I'm so excited for Millennia

Why wasn't it mentioned, that ressources can be specialized in different ways? For example, wood. If you go for a more religious path, you can create paper and send that to religious schools to make your wood basically create faith. Or you can convert your wood into lumber for more production etc. I'd love to hear more about the different ways ressources can be specalized!

I think things like this and the national spirits are what will really set this game apart through the years as it grows further. Looks cool! I do have one question, though, it seems like starting nation/culture choice is just cosmetic? You can pick your national bonus/ability on its own so does, say, France have any different playstyle than Japan or America?

You are correct, it is in practise only a cosmetic, you build your France as you want, if you wanna be historical or Spice Traders is all up to you.

i've played a game that about economy and resources before, civ4col, so seeing a new game that also deals with such has made me interested, however, i'm worried that the game might have too much resources. i like games that are simple (but at the same time complex), but let's see how things turn out.
