@@robertedwards5456 all the things you mentioned existed, unfortunately that is the human condition. However, I believe it's even worse today. I was born in '56 so I sure don't remember any of them. But I know in a lot of ways it was better.

Die Mille Miglia, die Targa Florio, Le Mans, Nürburgring sind für mich die Inbegriffe des Rennsports. Und ich hatte die Ehre, Sign. Marzotto kennen zu lernen, und kenne den heutigen Besitzer des Siegerwagens von 1953 sehr gut. Als der 340MM frisch restauriert wurde, war ich und ein Freund in Maranello und haben den Wagen zwischen Maranello und Modena gesehen. Wir machten eine harte Bremsung, kehrten unseren Wagen und fuhren mit hoher Geschwindigkeit in Richtung Maranello. Überholten einige Fahrzeuge, bis wir dann in Maranello selbst den 0280AM und seinen sehr liebenswerten Besitzer und Freund auf einer Kreuzung blockierten und alle anderen Autos auch. Wir fotografierten wie die Wilden und Umberto und sein Sohn waren total geflasht was wir mitten in Maranello veranstalteten. Die Geduld der anderen Blockierten ging zu Ende und wir liessen den 340MM und seinen Besitzer wieder fahren. Am Samstag war Modena Cento Ore und wir trafen den Besitzer in Modena. Was für Treffen, Fest und Freundschaft die dadurch entstand!!! 1000 GRAZIE❣❣❣ Ich war seit 1980 an jeder MM, bin diese öfters als Pressemann mitgefahren, privat acht Male gefahren...Hatte auch die Ehre Nini Vacarella persönlich zu kennen und andere Rennfahrer.... Mein höchster RESPEKT gilt ALL JENEN, die für ein Butterbrot ihr LEBEN RISKIERTEN🙏🙏🙏 Egal welchen Platz sie bei solchen Rennen erlangten. Und ich DANKE von HERZEN, solchen Menschen, welche die KULTUR UND GESCHICHTE der VERGANGENHEIT immer noch in IHREN FAMILIEN hoch halten und Pflegen!!! Und leider muss ich sagen, dass die MM seit die neue ORG am rudern ist, für mich die MM einen anderen Stellenwert bekommen hat. Zeiten und Menschen ändern sich... Aber solche Aufnahmen zeigen den ALTEN FLAIR, DIE GESCHICHTE DES AUTOMOBILS UND DEREN RENNFAHRER....DANKE FÜR DIESES ZEITDOKUMENT....VIVA LA FERRARI e MILLE GRAZIE a Umberto per il grande onore essere stato a casa tua! Fascinating, imagine being given bottles of wine and liquor from a hostess who's job it is to hand them to the racers ! Also, the people themselves seemed to be happier and livelier than today.

Interesting fact for rock lovers, Bill Mason who directed those Shell motorsport movies was Nick Mason's father (Pink Floyd drummer) ... this explains why Nick is such a petrolhead and has such a great car collection

Un documento eccezionale, finalmente ho la consapevolezza di cosa era la Mille Miglia. Interessanti le immagini iniziali in cui si vedono gli stabilimenti Osca, Maserati e Ferrari, con Enzo in piena azione accanto ai piloti.

C'è da dire anche che Salvatore Casella era l'unico che faceva tt la corsa solo... non avevo copiloto.
Il padre di mio ex fidanzato. Salvatore Casella questo della foto del mio profilo. Ha vinto 2 o tre volte. Anche lui è stato un grande .
