Mate, that reaction - I still get that every time I get a really clear night with a new moon and I've been doing it for a year now and only in Bortle 4. The night sky never gets old!
Being a photographer myself... Its one of the best feelings! When you see how amazing he world around us is... how focused we are on our day to day problems and how much we miss out to explore in life.... Any type of gear and camera can make amazing photos! you just need the skills to push it as far as it can go... And the greatest thing about photography... that it can justify you being at night... somewhere in the middle of nowhere... just to take this one shot... and stay awake all night...
THATS IT! ITS OVER! Best panorama i have seen 🔥🔥🔥🔥

this is crazy man
Dude, I also have been to La Palma once (and I will be there again for sure). I also was driving in the dark the first night. So, when I stepped out of the car I litterly was laughing for about 10mins, cause I just couldn't believe it. Isn't it a shame that people nowadays usually don't get that experience anymore? It is something that all people should be able to see every in clear night.

Will d o pal, a lot of people asked the same thing :)
Absolutely brilliant alyn . Awesome panoramas . What a place . My shots weren’t so good but i learned a lot out there , my first proper trip with the camera really . I was about 4K from there and the wind wasn’t so bad but the compositions were a bit limited , bit more research next time . Well done

Thanks a lot pal, incredible place isn't it!
Amazing! It'd be nice to see editing from scratch to final, stitching, processing panorama etc. Also some opinions about safety during photohraphing in the middle of nowhere at night, wildlife, environment, emergency etc. would be nice. Keep it up!

Dope video! This is so inspiring, I can't wait for next time I'll go out shooting astro again! Can I please ask you how did you manage to film yourself talking with the head light and still have the milky way visible on the background? Thanks

haha dang need to try that myself
your videos are amazing, i just wonder why 17k subs only? you deserve 1m subs. great content here.
Hi Alyn, another great video thank you. Where did you stay on La Palma please?
super job man!I'm totally stunned from this experience! The link in the description is not working!Where i can find your photo to native resolution for my macbook!? :D
Inspirational! The only darker place I’ve been is Morocco.
Cool... What would you recommend on my setup gear? I got a7s with 24mm samyang 2.8
Mind blowing Panos Alyn. :) I have one question though. How come the foreground looks in focus even at F2.5 if you were focused on the stars?
Espectacular min 6:58
Excellent video ! May I ask when was your trip in La Palma? I assume by understanding the MW position it was not too late in the year, looks like around spring? Can you confirm? I'm thinking going there in 2019. Thanks in advance.
Hey alyn, I was wondering, were you right up el roque de los muchachos during the panorama and the general photography? I wanna go down there again for some timelapsing next year, and I've been in la Palma for my whole life, my mother is from la palma, but I have no idea where this spot is to get this view. Thanks in advance, and I love your videos
Great photos ! I went to observe on the Isaac Newton Telescope for one week in February, it's an amazing place but the wind was absolutely crazy! For a huge telescope it's okay, but with my camera I almost didn't get any sharp image. My tripod Sirui T-025X is great for travelling, but I'm thinking to buy an heavier one now... You don't use a nodal L plate for your panoramas?
@AlynWallace
5 жыл бұрын
Hey Romain, wow that sounds awesome. I didn't use a rail in this video but I did buy one after this trip haha Just a Neweer 140mm and 200mm rail
In the palm of "Spain", can you see the milky way with the naked eye (namely without the need for filters)?
Hi Alym. Thanks for the video. I have a 2 question for you. first: the preset package works with lightrrom 2020? second: how do you shoot and stich the panaromas in 2 rows? thanks in advance.
I'm thinking of getting ptgui cos I like doing panos, my last panos had stitch lines, is that because of not overlapping enough
My heritage is from La Palma on my Father's side...we still have some land there. I've been to El Roque de Los Muchachos and also spent a night watching the stars and shooting stars from the side of the road many years ago and it's wonderful to see someone capture the beauty of the experience. Thank you.!!!
This is insane! I'm speechless! How did you find the altitude up there? Did you get any signs of altitude sickness? The selfie panoramic was just epic! Hope your recovery is going well.

Tomato Tomatoe :)
damn!
That was an incredible vlog. I had a few questions. 1. How do you exactly do the pano? Do you move the tripod head after every shot manually or does the Moveshootmove device automate the process for you? 2. How much do you turn after every shot? 3. The Milkyway obviously doesn’t stay at the center of your frame and has moved by the time you are taking the shots which are later on your frame so how do you adjust for that distortion? 4. Lastly what do you use to do the light painting? 5. One last one how do you light up your foreground? Thanks
@AlynWallace
5 жыл бұрын
1. I move manually because they are multi-row panoramas 2. Each image overlaps by 50% 3. The MW doesn't move quick enough 4. I don't light paint 5. I don't light up the foreground, I lift detail out of the shadows in Lightroom

Thank you thats some real helpful tips there. I am looking to get the moveshootmove product, seems to work well, however it all depends on how well we know how to use it. Your head lamp on the video looks extremely bright, is it a particular type? I tried looking it up on your gear list but didnt see it.

Its a Petzl Tikka XP which I don't think they make anymore there is a new version with a slightly different name, Reaktik maybe. Don't order the Move Shoot Move unit yet, there have been some problems with the latest batch :( Trying to resolve the issues asap

Alyn Wallace any updates on when they will release a version of the move shoot move with the features corrected?
Was that a shooting star at 1:59 ? it looked sped up but the meteor looked normal speed.
Alyn, How do you take videos sub 30fps? what camera are you using?
(Watching this video for the third time or so...) Alyn , how cold does it get up there?
