I wonder what a blood-bath would look like? Sort of a glassy, see through red with little bits of flower petals floating in it. Or a cappuccino bath? Maybe a darker brown with creamy swirls and little clusters of pearly bubbles floating in it.

Jen Schrock , good idea my nail bed is kinda wide I hate it. It takes a lot of filing and shaping to get the desired shape. Plus my nails do not have a natural curve. 😢

Jen Schrock I also used to have a wide nail bed and I’ve tried everything, I have reeeeeally filed them(which I regret, still trying to recover from filing the sides off) and then I saw this little “tweezer” for nails, to make a curve. I took some polygel, applied it onto my nail, cured it for 5-10 seconds and used the tweezer on the full nail surface sides to make a nice arch, you probably could look up arch nails how to or something like that❤️ And my nails have a really nice curve right now because I left the nails to grow out for two months(filling it in the same way like before when needed)

I agree. I've worn both, I prefer the feel of gel more as well. It's more finicky in the application sometimes though. My mom is a manicurist around Suzy's age and she is better with acrylic. She got really excited when she saw that they were starting to come back in style. For while it was just gel everywhere when they first came out. For this particular nail art idea though, seems easier with gel. Looks like the flowers stick much better.

She makes the acrylic look so easy but then when she starts talking about getting ratios right I think I'm probably better just sticking with the gel. But, I may Ebay an acrylic kit for something to do. But then I'll really need to get an e-file won't I?

Lately when I polish my nails, it starts chipping the very next day. I try to take care of my natural nails as best I can. I put a base coat on before the color I want to use, and a top coat. I even put a cuticle and nail oil on. Just curious what tips you have for polish not chipping so fast. My favorite brand of Polish is Sally Hanson. Thank you Susie for posting all of these amazing nail videos. So enjoy them all.

That's how I usually work out its moved away from the cuticle. Sigh. Always gets caught. So I work at smoothing that edge before it gets caught and begins to lift. I'm a DIY who only started a couple of months ago and my work is very hard on my hands. And obviously I don't want to fill if it's only a couple of millimetres of growth. I'll usually file and smooth and update the colour or design.

I like them both for slightly different reasons. The acrylic because it's a little more translucent under the flowers; the gel because of the base pink gel. And if the milkyness was halfway between the two on both nails they would be spot on perfect. I'm going to attempt this for my next set in about 2.5 weeks! But with a twist!! Glow in the dark powder (turquoise) as my base.😊😒😌

Suzie I love watching your videos. I've always loved doing nails. I've been a florist for the last 20 years and just don't enjoy it any longer. Thinking of becoming a nail technician but school is so expensive here in CT USA. How much does your one day class cost?

I bet that you would do great as a nail tech, especially bringing all of that experience of being a florist into it. Knowing which colors compliment one another & the ability to create very realistic looking ones, once you've learned the 'one swipe ' technique. Last comment may simply state the obvious, but also think about the fact that she's on the opposite side of the continent than you & in Canada, so there's the monetary difference too. Either way, good luck!

I am loving the gel finish the best Suzie, I would love to see you do the Polygel with the Milk Bath as I have and I used a lovely soft lilac instead of pink on the nail bed area, then used violet, buttercup, and orange colours with green leaves in the milk bath and it was stunning.....Love your work and your video's and hope you can at least look at doing two video's a week.....Rozzie Dummett from Australia :)

Hi Suzie, You make me want to get my nails done every single day ! Your videos are so interesting and very entertaining. You make me want to learn how to do my own nails but I am overloaded with my own work already and I just would not have time to do them on my own. I wish I could get my nails done with you but I live a bit far from you. Would you have any idea who does nails with such precission like you do here in San Diego, CA? Your work is amazing and so on point!!!! Love your work, love your soothing voice and your so detailed!

hay Suzie, I recently found out about EMA and MMA acrylic monomer. I know MMA is really damaging to natural nails. I would love to see you make a video explaining the difference between EMA and MMA monomer.

Wish I could remember her name, there's another owner of a salon that does KZread videos, but she has a Russian accent. She actually interviewed the inventor of acrylic nails! He explained all of your questions very well. I'm sorry I don't recall her name, she has a very informative channel too, quite talented also. But look up inventor of acrylic nails interview? Sorry!

I just love your videos! Love doing my own nails but still learning the acrylic-monomer ratio. That is giving me struggles. But I bought one of those practice hands and I practicing on that. Plus believe it or not filing/shaping is giving issues to. I didn't think that would be so hard but getting that perfect shape without cutting the skin isn't always easy. I am loving this milk bath and i really want to try it. Again I love your videos and the sound of your voice is very pleasant.

I love the Gel because it looks thinner but I agree it does need more of the milky look. I have naturally long nails but there thin so when they do acrylic it feels to heavy & uncomfortable to me. With that said the acrylic milky look catches my eye more. Great job! I love the style & side by side!🥰

I like them both but it seems like it’s easier to work with gel over the acrylic. Being that I’m pretty new with building nails I’m trying to get the thinness as opposed to the thick tips that I’m doing now while trying to encapsulate glitters and flowers. I guess I’ll keep practicing 😌

When applying gel, whether it it base, builder, color or top coat, you can turn the finger upside down and let it settle into a small apex, an so no need to file (when it comes to builder, no need to file all that much because the basic shape is there) afterwards to have them perfect. :)

Hi ,Im so glad you decided to do a gel tutorial! I have always loved embedding dried flowers & so much more to nails! Licensed since 1999, yes I am old,but didnt arrive on the Titanic! Love your work,!!,Can I ask why you chose to do gel differently? By this i mean you sculpted a thin clear base, then added flowers, so why start with the milk prior to adding the flowers?? Also Ive been dying to try one of your kits, are they available for the USA??? Thanks hun!
