Military Retirement: What is the VA Waiver?
The so-called VA Waiver is a reduction in your DOD pension to offset VA disability payments. It was counter balanced by Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay (CRDP) and Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC) for some Soldiers, but not all. Therefore, understanding this small piece of the retirement puzzle is an important step in getting everything you deserve.

This is an excellent presentation that potential military retirees need to understand! Everyone should also watch the two other videos to understand the waiver exceptions.

@@the_bureaucrat I receive 10% from the VA for a bad knee. Which is subtracted from my military pension and I do not have to pay taxes (state/Fed) on the 171 dollars I receive each month. The VA health has been really good out of Hines here in Illinois. It does take some time to get into see a doctor (that is ok as they are still serving WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Shield/Storm, Iraq/Afghanistan veterans) plus non-combat personnel such as myself.
