The composer was a German-born Finn, Friedrich Pacius, he lived in Finland for the most of his life, from 1834 until his death in 1891, that is 57 years.

@@MiSt3300 THX a lot. You are a vital part of EU but some of your conservative politicians seem to be unable to respect your neighbours. You have to find a way to build up a good realtionship to russia, despite the history. And also with us - this seems to be a lot easier, but we also recognize the anti-german-mindset. the pattern of disrespecting the neighbours and searching for friends in overseas (USA/Trimp) was never a good idea. We will do everything to have a good realtionship with poland. And beside this - to undermine the EU is not a good idea. The EU is the guarantee to have peace in Europe. I hope you can convince the polish people and wish you all the best. Otherwise we all loose.

The Shoes have metal Plates, so that you can better hear the "Clack" when the taking thier Shoes together. Same with the Riffels. The Riffles are the old Karabiner 98k , the same the Germany Army used during WW2.

Lappi Lappland: Aus Sicht der deutschen Beziehungen zu Finnland ist die "letzte und beste Hoffnung" möglicherweise nicht ganz richtig. To be honest, Finland could have done much more to help Germany. Finland chose to retake the territories it lost in the Winter War (+ some extra land). Instead, Finland could have helped Germany take Leningrad, capture the Murmansk railroad and pushed further into Russia. Could be Finland lacked the resources for a long and costly war though.

@@evos3754 Well, Germany didn't actually want to take Leningrad. Hitler had ordered the troops not to enter the city. They did try to capture the Murmansk railroad together with German troops repeatedly but always failed mostly due to the bad infrastructure.

@@comsubpac Yeah, but didn't they decide to not capture Leningrad only AFTER they noticed how difficult it was? If you check a map, you can see that the Finns left a significant amount of land between their frontline and Leningrad. I believe, that if the Finns for some reason wanted to help Germany with all they had, they would've atleast pushed to the outskirts of the city and shelled it from the north. And as to the Murmansk railroad, if they had moved more troops north, it probably could've been pulled off.

​@@evos3754 Even at very early stages, in 1942, it became clear to Finnish intelligence and government that Germany will lose the war. Such is the might of U.S. industrial capacities. Finland did not want to be in the war in the first place. I think it was pretty well done that Finland keep the northern flank and Baltic sea clean. Germans only had to worry about central and southern portions of the front, and Baltics/Leningrad of course. Why on earth would we want to shell Leningrad? We never had a written agreement of alliance with Germany. We were co-belligerents. Finland wanted its (Winter War 1939-1940) lost areas back and that's pretty much it. By the way we went as close as 22 km from Leningrad, just a few kilometres over the old border, to get better defending positions. That is pretty close to Leningrad. We could have cut the Murmansk railway (Via Allied Lend-Lease convoy help was coming) and do many other things greatly strategically harmful to Soviets. We did not do that, and used it in the negotiations table with the Soviets later. One of key factors why the Soviets gave (agreed on) Finland's neutral position post WW 2. We understood we were a nation of few million against 190 million. We could never win, but as long as we keep our country Soviet free, that's a victory enough for us.

Common misconception is that Hugo Boss designed the SS uniforms, when in fact they were designed by Karl Diebitsch and Walter Heck. Like someone already mentioned, Hugo Boss was one of several companies that only produced them.

I love watching these parades, but as a Brit I have to say that the German part of the parade --' The inspection of the Honour guard' Leaves me quite cold. The red carpet is some six metres from the front rank, and the inspecting officer goes past almost running! when it should be closer and allow the inspecting person to converse with one or two selected soldiers, just perhaps a few formal words. I have done many of these Guards and have been spoken to by the Queen Mother and a Prime Minister, also the Top Generals. Why not so in the German Army. It is good for morale! When I become Chancellor of Germany I will change it.

Gute Frage und gute Anregung! Diese Hymnen gibt es hier (noch) nicht. Da ich mich nur marginal für Fußball interessiere, habe ich bisher von der Prügelei um die kontingentierten Bildplätze Abstand genommen.

Warum bekommen unsere ehrenvollen Musiker nicht wenigstens Mützen im selben Farbton?? Da werden Millionen für Staatsbesuche ausgegeben, und für Mützen fehlen 500€, oder was? Hmmmmm... Aber musikalisch ist das immer beste Sahne. Respekt! More of this!!

Du meinst, weil die nicht alle Baretts denselben Grünton aufweisen (wie 4:29 zu sehen)? Ich gehe schwer davon aus, dass diese teils privat beschafft sind, da sie auch unterschiedliche geschnitten sind. Manche Baretts gehen bis zum Ohr, andere gerade mal bis zum Lederrand des Baretts. Die kürzeren sind zu meist nicht dienstlich geliefert.

Btw our parade uniform is very similar in finland. Many things coming from germany like military ranks.

Meines Wissens ist er seit 2002 im Stabsmusikkorps. Ob er seit dem auch Leiter des Spielmannszuges ist, weißt ich nicht. Er war davor im Luftwaffemusikkorps Berlin und dem Zentralorchester der NVA.
