@calypso6652 I mean they have Rightfully which is just the op for goblin slayer season 1. The second half of Between Two Worlds is kinda similar to this in sound. And Within which is also from goblin slayer. In Hell We Live, Lament is kinda similar.

Rightfully was my introduction to Mili’s music, I am DELIGHTED to see they worked on another opening for Goblin Slayer and this song is such an amazing experience, I think they did even better this time

This song is perfect bcuz it captures the plot of Goblin Slayer literally perfectly. Goblin Slayer's world is a boardgame to the Gods and Goblin Slayer refuses to let the Gods roll the dice thus controlling his fate which is where "I shall win your one sided game" comes from..."my pain does not exist to entertain" and in the end "we refuse to be entertainment" this gives me flashbacks to season 1 episode 7 wen Goblin Slayer's party nearly died in Watertown but Goblin Slayer refused to die and rose up to finish the Goblin Champion. This is why the Gods are fascinated by him bcuz they don't know his fate. Imagine playing a video game and this character is supposed to die but just keeps getting back up bcuz they refuse to suffer for your entertainment...Goblin Slayer is peak fiction and I'll debate this

And you have to add the beauty they made a doomsday epic music for a guy who blatantly refuses to kill anything else than goblins. And although the series really tries hard to sell the goblins as a threat and you watch his party, and have little to envy to Dai's one, it could be easily a hero's party. At its core it's a parody, a perfect one.

And that segment is effectively said by Sword Maiden, because Goblin Slayer said that he will always slay goblins... even in her dreams. Thanks to that Sword Maiden finally found peace in sleep and stopped having nightmares. She finally started healing from the trauma.

This song makes me think the Goblin Slayer is a rebel against a grim dark setting, created by capricious gods looking for "entertainment." The Goblin Slayer won't leave his fate up to a dice roll of the gods, making the author the ultimate villain if you think about it. Wonderful song, I love D&D and it's perfect.

They are searching an artifact called the World Book that have become active (there's a thing as active and inactive artifact in my world) they have collected a few item in the past which is the Dice of Fate, Ink of Reality and Feather of Creation (basically a pen). Basically the items that can be used redo the world (also those item have limitations of use so it's not over powered but the more item they collect the item also have more ability). If you get the reference already The World Book is basically the death note like item that use these other artifact to be working properly. One of the player character (an Armorer Artificer+ Transmutation Wizard) she accidentally get to see the reality of the world they are living in (nothing but false world and a play thing of the unknown entity aka us). So what did you know, I make that encounter to be the final boss. Technically I already have a raw idea of the final boss like "oh maybe the dm can be the final boss" cliche but because of that single moment in the session. Why not make her character this person who wants to rewrite the world. Perhaps a different her where she thinks the best way to safe the world is to end it destroying the campaign so no one will suffer the truth (it's inspired by the player idea that like "no one should know about this truth". So yeah either you live in the world of a lie or destroy it to safe everyone from it. Sometimes the truth hurts but so do lies. A battle of the mind. A choice

原作漫画上で、そもそもこの世界自体が超越存在(神的な)のコマの奪い合いかのような描写があったのと。確かにソードワールド系のTRPGリプレイみたいな世界観なので(本来スルーしそうな事にも"目星"振ったかのような気づきがあったり、それが功を奏すとは限らないというか、どっかでファンブル振ったよね？ぐらいの大失態があったりとか)。そういった細かい所を大胆に丁寧に拾い上げてくれた楽曲なんだなぁと、ヒシヒシと感じます。

Mili earworming "quiet" voice had made herself synonymous with Goblin Slayer and suits the cold, relentless brutal nature of it very well. It conveys Goblin Slayer's drive. And it takes me back to watching season 1 in October 2018 too! 7:40pm

The atmosphere of games fromsoftware is reminiscent of this song, I really want to go to this song and replay Dark souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring and other Soul-like games

I't AMAZING how beautiful the whole song ends, with the thematic of a puppet resisting its puppeteer, and the Gods asking the party or gobling slayer himself "How many turns you plan to last?" Just for them to answer that repeated question in such a chill inducing way... Truly amazing what Mili did there, from the composer to the singer and everything in between. I really wonder just how much does a puppet needs to bleed for the puppeteer to be satisfied...

Once again it's another iconic intro. Always love it when an Anime sticks to 1 (sometimes 2) band for all of the intros to maintain the same theme.

The first opening was how I discovered Mili, and since then I love the band ! ❤

Both Goblin Slayer openings have that unique dark vibe that mixes despair, pain, rage and yet hope. I never skip openings in Goblin Slayer, they just make you sink in GS's common atmosphere. Perfect openings for perfect story.

The first second of the OP I was hooked. The chanting coupled with priestess swinging her staff to bonk a goblin was perfection. They've done a really good job of showcasing the evolution of somebody whose original function was just to sit in the back and cast a few miracles a day when Goblin Slayer said to, to somebody who is making her own decisions, using her miracles offensively, and even helping out the frontline with a few bonks (like at the top of the dam building).

@@clintonbehrends4659 could be anything. I just use D&D as catch all term for the average dude who doesn’t know the difference systems.

I always picture the female voice being from The Priest girl, because she's a main character side by side with GS and the music seems to have similarities with their adventures.

Given the framing device for the series, this song absolutely rules. The characters just rebelling against the system that they're forced to live inside of.

I like how her song has more and more opera-like part ever since she made song for Limbus Company. Back then it was more jazzy and ballad.

Mili's music always has and always will be the peak of emotional/dramatic music to me. Between this, Rightfully and Within, it's like a miracle unfolding before my ears. Also I've realised that in the anime(in the first season at least), apart from many tropes, and the occasional implication, these songs are primary evidence pointing to the Goblin Slayer world being a tabletop. And its really compelling. Thank you Mili for blessing us listeners with another bountiful platter of artistry

I know Mili from Rightfully then I tried to explore their music more and I realized that I fell in love with their work, and for this song I can't express how good and magnificent it is, it gives me goosebumps... Thank you Mili for always making such amazing works.

As a gamer and a fan of Goblin Slayer, I couldn't think of a more perfect song to go along with it.

Solo puedo escribir que el ritmo le hace perfecta combinación a la apertura de la serie, ojalá y si siguen sacando más temporadas del GS, sea Mili quien esté a cargo de esas intros.

For people who don’t know, this anime is basically a dnd anime- but you would never know it just by watching it. The main character is literally an npc who is “supposed” to be unimportant. But he has the ability to mess with fate, the “gods” (the dnd players) and does what he wants instead being too angry to die.

I would say hes a player character who perseveres despite what his player rolls. ie, hes denying what the gods and fate dictate should happen through sheer will and anger.

​@@JOfJaZSort of. A power gamer edgelord Player just made Doomguy as his PC and the DM has been trying to kill him since Day 1. He sacrificed his CHA so he could be a badass at lvl 1. He only kills goblins to power grind. When you think about it like this, GS is hilarious.

I hope Mili does every opening of this next decade. I cant get enough.
