Why are people seeing only the appearance? "he's so cute, he's so sexy, his eyes etc." Did you hear what this poem was about? THIS IS JUST A SURFACE, A MASK. Look deeper

once he was asked why he was so nervous and he answered "you try telling all those people that you wear a mask and wrote a suicide note"

i don't get how you can listen to this poem and then comment below on his attractiveness. His poem is LITERALLY about how people see the surface and judge him for it whether it be that he's hot, untrustworthy, uncaring, or lax, with a lot of it simply because of the fact that he's mixed. He clearly speaks about the privilege he receives because of his lighter skin. And he prefaces this entire thing with how sometimes the most popular person is the one with no friends, alluding to himself being popular with girls but ultimately lonely. The piece is painful and heavy with regret, shame, and self-hate. I wouldn't call it beautiful, but something that is weighty, so much so that you can't look away.

PBreezy19 He's talking about wearing a mask. He is saying that this mask that he wears is covering his feelings. He was dead inside but on the outside, he was just a normal kid, this metaphorical mask that he is wearing is hiding his true self.

miles has honestly changes me as a writer. he is my largest inspiration for poetry and is the reason i write. I can see the passion in his eyes, and his feared betrayal of the world. this is the first time I've ever taken the time to comment something on youtube but i just thought to share my thoughts on his touching poetry.

he's cute, he's hot. he knows it. He uses it. He confesses his regret for his charm and that he knows he will get away with it. He will get girls and use his charm and gifts to. I think this is as much resembled in his use of comparing it to racism. He got away with awful things, he is sad now, but sometimes people still forget, even he will choose to.

ThaGenius101 it doesn't matter what your sexual preference is on how you can judge the attractiveness of others. David Beckham or Wayne Rooney? You don't fancy Beckham but you know he's hot stuff, right? Sexuality would only play a part in sexual attraction, not overall judgement of body and face aesthetics.

(work with the grain to fix that that goes against it to ruin it ) Scottish fisherman's proverb. what does being pretty have to do with how easy your life is it doesn't im fairly OK when it comes to looks but Ive been shunned by every person in my old town because i didn't believe in there god beauty does not stave of hatred nor does it make it ok to burn a girl in the second story bathroom because she said you were sheep do not invite insincerity into your words i have lived the life of the little white girl and it is not easier or harder it is just the same s every one else and im not even adding the fact that i like girls as wael as boys do not act supirior to another when all you have to say is blame .breath

You guys seriously need to hear him. Get your eyes off of the appearance and focus on the words. If he actually committed suicide after this poem, half of you guys would wonder,......"Why!? He was so cute. He LOOKED like nothing was wrong with him." That's because you guys weren't listening man. Please listen to the actual words. I completely understand what he's talking about.
