Milan (or Milano 2024) is a city in Lombardia (Lombardy) Northern Italy. The city of Milan has a population of approximately 1,5 million and its region of 4,5 million. Milan is the second biggest city of Italy after Rome. Although the city was severely bombed during the Second World War the old center still exists and was partly restored. Especially the Duomo Cathedral of Milan is world famous with its Gothic design. The city has a modern appearance though in contrast to many other Italian cities. There is a modern urban area known as Fintech District and the CityLife District. The city is the financial heart of Italy and many multinational have their offices in Milan. Moreover, Milan is also known as the fashion and design city of the world.
