At the time he was trying to avoid being known as Hispanic. Then it played right in the Kayfabe storyline and he had an hair match where his head was shave.

@@beautifulcat2023 Yep. He turned on his mentor Jose Lothario. The feud wrapped up with a hair v. hair match where Gino got shaved. He actually wore a mask that had a wig attached to the top for a few weeks before his own hair started coming back in. Buddy Rose later used the idea when he lost his hair match to Roddy Piper in Portand
