Yeah, for the worst seats it was around 250 in Vancouver. I was gonna go but decided to not because I’m saving up for something, and I’m glad I did. The thing is, I feel like the expo shoulda been better than in previous years because technology is evolving, and also I feel like there are a lot more vocaloid fans then like 2019 because of project sekai, so they (probably)had more money to put into it. Hopefully the organizers of this years expo can learn from their mistake for next time. I wont be surprised if unless they announce that the show will be in holograms and live music, there won’t be as many people wanting to go to the concerts.

Exactly that, I paid $400 to finally see this concert again after covid cancelled the 2020 tour, and I was not ready for people to be posting a giant Roku TV in the middle of the stage. I’ll be at the Dallas show on the 25th and now I just feel embarrassed, especially since I hyped my little sister up about it and showed her my 2018 videos (which are on my channel). I really hope it isn’t as bad in person as it looks in these pictures.

It's a shame the LED screen became a thing, the stage design was so cool too. They could've just went the route taken with MikuFes 24 and integrated the screen into the stage instead of laying it in the middle.

True, they could have easily matched the image of the background inside the led, making it stand out way less but seems like they truly didn`t bother at all

I went with my daughter, and it was a first time for both of us, we didn't know any better and were thereby 'happy' with what we got. Then I learn it was an LED screen instead of hologram projections. So now I guess we'll have to save up for the next show, and hope we'll get a better experience with real holograms.

This concert did not meet the standards of a qualified concert, and it is not as good as previous tours. The use of LED screens creates a strange feeling in the overall environment. It is to save costs that LED screens are used. It is extremely unfriendly to the side audience experience, and there is not much effort in selecting songs. It is even worse than the program list of the 2023 Japan tour. The performance models are mixed and not uniform. If the organizers only want to make a lot of money and hurt the hearts of fans, it is best not to hold the concert. The city promotion is also not done well, and there are many blank spaces on site. We only hope to switch back to holographic projection screens, not so-called LED screens. If we cannot achieve this, I suggest the organizer go bankrupt. 😢😢

I bought the closest non vip section for assigned seats to get a better view but the TV completely blocked my view of the bassist (and I could see the whole supporting frame on its side). The environment was still fun and I enjoyed the lightworks but the setup was definitely different from what I expected. I also wished that they did a better job with the audio, all the sounds are just kind of...mushed together and super boomy. I wasn't a huge Vocaloid fan before. I loved the energy of the crowd and saw the appeal of the genre. The fans at the concert had fun but they deserved way better considering how long everyone has been waiting for a live concert.

I’m so thankful me and my friend didn’t buy tickets, we were planning on going to the Keller auditorium in Portland Oregon (we live in Portland Oregon so it was perfect) but then we saw the prices and they were all over 200 dollars and we were going to do it but ended up not, I’m so glad I didn’t waste almost all my money on a LED screen.

I'm really hoping this changes the way they have the LED screen right now just looks horrible, LED concerts can look good but this just aint it. That tiny screen is probably just going to look worse as they move to bigger venues. I'm going to the concert in NJ and our venue is about 3 times the capacity of Vancouver's, if they use this same tiny screen there i can imagine it's going to look just extra bad and low effort compared to the size of the venue.

I am a miku fan for almost 14 years, i am really shocked about it. it was my life dream, the thing that i was waiting until now (cuz currently i can afford to go) but i... don't want it anymore. feels gross and really different from what I expected... imma wait and go to japan maybe, cuz if the concert is it, i rather watch it on my tv then bc it feels the same lol

I'm also a long-time miku fan (14 years as well!) and ME2024 is going to be my first concert :/ Was too broke to go in 2016, my concert got canceled in 2020, and now in 2024 after a long 8 year wait, my patience has been rewarded with LED screens :///

Weird thing is that Crypton was involved in Teto’s SynthV release. They really need to move over to that engine. :P

The difference is that the Hologram Tech gives a 3D effect making her look real and make you forget it is a Hologram. TVs do not give the same effect. Crunchy Roll failed the fans on this one.

I went to Artpop in 2014 to see Miku, and Miku Expo in 2016. Both times projected holograms. I would probably just unalive myself if I paid money to watch an LED screen. Fans deserve way better.

Seriously this is true, what a piece of crap, since 2017 I started to feel that miku expo stopped being a faithful product to the international fans (outside japan) and has only been a mediocre merchant to look for easy money, also the nefarious treatment that Spanish speaking countries always suffer, giving them only dates and the poorest set list of all (yes, I'm talking about mexico), about the song contest that honestly nobody cares anymore , still winning the same type beat that we heard before , this year there was a lot of diversity like urban pop, 80s, electro and r&b, etc.. and an the common idol sound that we have already heard for a long time wins, c´mon. It's a shame for the Vancouver fans who have just rushed this concert, the use of the LED screen really didn't please me, where was the holographic proposal that they promoted so much with miku, the price of the tickets is even terrible and doesn't justify anything.

I looked at ticket prices the moment they went up, it was like $700-$1000+ for a BACK ROW ticket. So far back you wouldn't be able to tell what was even going on. Miku would be a blue blob from that distance, for $700+ .. lol

i'm not really a fan of hatsune miku or whatever, i have no idea why this was even reccomended to me, but i am SO sorry for you all. i am a major splatoon fan, and splatoon also has hologram concerts, so i know how you guys feel. but this must've been like 10x worse than the disappointment i had with bankalive 2024, i feel so bad

update: everyone it's ok i managed to resist the urge to listen to more vocaloid songs (but i keep getting reccomended miku concerts please help)

the way I literally bought me and my friends tickets. we got floor admission so we might be able to get close to the stage with the right timing, but also we're all disabled so being at the front and center of a big crowd wouldn't be very practical. we're literally driving nearly 5 hours out for this shit and sleeping in our car for it like wtf crunchyroll. prolly cutting corners to save since funimation imploded lol

Today was my first Miku concert, I had my expectations low so as not to get my hopes up and when it came I loved it, my sister and I had an incredible time, it was worth it. Most of those who complain about the screen are those who have not been there yet, because although I am far away the screen looked good with the lights and was almost like a hologram, it was very HD, only when you record it looks bad. but in real life it is beautiful. it's worth it.

i hope mine is somewhat okay on the 8th, i'll update this post afterwards. i am now concerned. Update: stage looks a bit better but it is an led screen. Im here right now. Final Update: Screen sometimes looked really good, Sometimes really bad, still was a really enjoyable concert. i think if they used more darker colors then bright colors it would had been passible.

I signed the petition. And you know what? I'm glad I wasn't able to get tickets because they were sold out now... Imagine not advertising what the fans would be seeing and paying loads of money for. Just to arrive and take a seat and realize that you were scammed and would be seeing an LED screen instead of holograms. This is disappointing for all vocaloid fans who wanted to finally see Miku in person while waiting years because of Covid...

I didn’t attend, but from what I’ve seen, the production is decent, but they really need a better screen. However, I like how they didn’t allow phones similar to live shows in Japan, because phones ruin the experience for others. Even Tyler The creator’s Coachella billboard ad (where Miku will be performing) wants people to not take out there phones. Still, I agree with the rest, the tickets were overpriced in some areas and the team would have did a better job with the live. ALSO SOMEONE PISSED?????

Was a big fan of vocaloid prior to the 2020 until my love for kind of just burnout during pandemic and back then when i learned that she would appear Coachella i was excited because it's not everyday you could see a virtual idol hologram performing and after seeing this four years later i don't know what to feel like it feels so cheap and no care went to it.

Comparing this to Mikupa back in 2011 is insane. That was well over a decade ago, this had to have happened again because of greed or mismanagement. Had I known crunchyroll was backing this, I sure as shit wouldn't have let my friend rope me into this

This is the second one that happened this year, first the Willy Wonka fiasco and now this.

I'm sorry, why couldn't they do the holograms instead? Were they just trying to cut corners? Or did they run into a technical issue a few days prior and have to resort to the LED screen? They could have at least darkened the area so it was difficult to see the screen.

The screen, I don’t really mind, because the main thing is fun. As long as the experience itself isn’t too bad, an LED screen works fine. I am a little upset about how this played out and how they didn’t inform us that the holograms were not available, but honestly, I think the fans and communities on social media are really dragging the issue down a bit offhand, especially since this is, hopefully, only a one time event.

Vocaloid used to be very relevant, and still kinda is, but nowadays it's just been a complete joke. They keep reusing models and videos from 2014, never make anything substantially new, the games they make are all re-releases of the same thing.. (don't get me started on them re-releasing future tone about 4 times and upping the cost every time for removing content) And now they're not even bothering to get actual projection screens for the fake "hologram" effect that even was available in 2009-2010. Bruh vocaloid/whatever crypton/sega does is such a joke anymore. SynthV is so superior, as is Sekai. I'm glad I didn't pay $800+ for a backseat ticket to this trash. Literal highway robbery.
