Can you do a video explaining tevin campbell voice
Milik is really out here doing a service for Black Music. THANK YOU, bro.
I LOVE MIKI HOWARD!!! I never knew “Run To You” was written for her. It’s a crying shame Miki didn’t get the same promotion and marketing like Whitney did in the 80s and 90s because her talent is undeniable (not to mention she came from gospel royalty). She’s a testament to how cruel the music industry can be. But, nevertheless, she overcame it all and is here to tell her story. Miki, we love you 😘

There was a slew of phenomenal black girls that came out in Whitney's era and none of their careers got the traction Whitney got: Denice Williams, Shirley Murdock, Stephanie Mills, Angela Winbush, Meli'sa Morgan, Vesta...I think it had more to do with the racism of radio stations, though. The pop stations never played any black artists except the standards, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Prince and Whitney. There is an entire system that kept us separate and unequal.

@@darkfeather6857 Miki and others were dealing with Sylvia Rhone who didn’t care about killing a career for any petty reason. Also most labels were unwilling to do what Clive did. Clive/Arista put major dollars into Whitney and her promotion. Clive sent her records to all formats instead of only sending to urban stations.

She’s a underrated Chicago Legend! We love you Miki!
I will never forget when I first heard her voice on the radio. She is the only artist that, in my opinion, did an Aretha song better than Aretha with "Until You Come Back to Me." She absolutely blew me away. It's unfortunate that the racism of the music business pigeonholed her, she is one of the best singers ever, period, and should be a superstar.

Such a short documentary.
Sigh…so tired of mega talents being drawn and quartered in this industry!! She should be so much bigger and respected!!! Love her so much! This isn’t long enough!!!! She deserved a whole hour!!!
I absolutely love this woman's instrument. Her vocal style, color, range, and adlibs are just so phenomenal to me. Blessings, hugs & kisses to you Miki, you will always be considered as one of the greats in my book.
OMG! I love Miki Howard. You deserve all the things highlighting this unsung legend!
I would love to see a set with her, Anita and Regina Belle. The late 80s female great R&B singers. Whitney’s contemporaries, and actually more popular w/ Black audiences I’m the beginning. The last class of great ‘just stand and sing’ female R&B singers!
Miki Howard is one of my all time favorite vocalist. That Miki Sings Billie album deserved so much more love than it received. I was obsessed with her voice when I was young.
Thank you for bringing us another needed black music icon who has not received her flowers. Makes me happy to see her shine and sad to see how the industry has intentionally removed talent for sex.
I know Aretha ain’t wearing no cowboy hat at choir practice!!! 😭❤️👑2:06! She was #2 at the charts with Miki at #4 5:28 It came back full circle!!! I love how Miki is keeping the legacy of the greats going!!! I love the Pilgrim Jubilee’s as well🔥
She’s a true talent. Thanks for the documentary. Hopefully a lot of ppl see it
She tore that song absolutely up! I love her voice. So rich and clear
She's an RnB LEGEND . THATS IT she should get her flowers and tributes like others. The way these powerhouse vocalist were treated in the 80s gets on my nerves most unsungs show singers especially in that era ending up on drugs and being thrown away by the industry. You are giving so many their flowers and honoring the legacy of black music 👏👏👏❤️
A SANGER! Love under new management, but I love you, & share my love still is in rotation for me. & what has always intrigued me was the numerous parallels that existed between Whitney and Miki. Beyond singing, their upbringing as children and as grown woman. Definitely two sides of the same coin.
So good to see Miki Howard doing well. I still listen to her songs. She was so right when she said "our music was our instruction". You don't know how many guys that has written that in comments under the old school groups songs. Those songs were romantic, about love, pain, and relationships and we do need to hear those kinds of songs still.
MIKI HOWARD I LOVE YOU GIRL
OMG MILIK I ADORE YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love Miss Howard. She sangs,baby!
I so can hear her singing "Run to You"! Wow!!! The closing words made me giggle hehe. Loved this!!!!

Wow what am amazing singer! Plus she's a hoot. Love her laugh!
Miki Howard one of favorite singers. Love her! I was just a little thing when she came out but whenever the opening to Baby Be Mine played on the radio I was singing like a grown woman with a broken heart, a mortgage, and a car note.
I've always loved Miki's voice!

Giving Ms. Mikki Howard her 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

I love her music.
🗣MONEY!
It's a shame that so many real great Soul and R&B Singer like Miki Howard are so in Mainstream unheard.
Miki🎉
🖤🖤🖤🖤
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I really like Miki as a singer. She's got quite a few that are must haves in my long list "crazy", "come back to me lover", "you better be ready to love me", "ain't nobody like you", her duet with Gerald LeVert "that's what love is". But the most unexpected and not so much a showcase but just fun one..."love them buns" with one of my favorites Lee Ritenour. She's been through a lot. I'm always curious about her. I had to come back because "love under new management" seemed to obvious to mention but I just don't feel right not mention it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
❤❤❤
WAIT. I just noticed that Vanessa Bell Armstrong is at the 2:07 mark at rehearsals for the Amazing Grace album.
💎💎💎💎💎💎
She's has also a powerful voice and unique one. She's like a mix of Whitney houston, Wendy Moten and Stephanie Mills...She's awesome indeed!
Oh my goodness 😳 all this time I never subscribed... I'm sorry . Iv been watching ur content like for the longest now
1:50 - WOW! Imagine watching your idol in front of you and then become an amazing singer years later! How did you find that was Miki, btw?

I identified her mother first when the choir is walking in at the beginning of the film. Over the course of the film, the camera cuts to Josephine a lot and during, "You Got A Friend" the camera keeps going back to a little girl dancing. I realized she looked like Josephine and made the connection lol

@@BlackMusicArchive oh, that's ok! Haha Thanks for clarifying. Miki did mention that she was present in rehearsals as shown in your video.
