he is still the boss. focus on the essence and perfect controll of what he does. Hearing his creating of sounds and textures and everything whith the necessary time, that is a master class. No more comment.

I love the fact that this man plays the piece with hues and colors almost entirely. But it is a bit unusual however, it is the best that I have heard. So, Ilove him and this piece and the performance.

More of subtlety and sensitivity than is usually the case in this great virtuoso showpiece. Kent Nagarno and Pletnev great combination here. Some say Pletnev can be an icy perfectionist - not the case here, he is delicate and stylish.

oh, indeed one more comment (I wrote the other before hearing the encore): I had to fight against the tears while hearing the lark, ...and I lost. On the one side it is so rare to hear something so beautifull, on the other side the whole melancholy of the poem text is there transformed to piano sound, it is so difficult not to get emotional when hearing this. One of the best examples of russian piano mastery of all times.

Rolle, Switzerland, Collège du Rosay's concert hall. Oct 30 and 31st 2023: Rachmaninov four piano concertos plus Paganini's in two evenings! Orchestra: first appearance of Rachmaninov's International Orchestra, founded by Mr Pletnëv, with musicians from all around the world. (Conductor: Kent Nagano)
