True. All I got from it is that Mikey friend couldn’t play so he transferred to a university that would accept him and his friend. Mikey making the NBA regardless (aslong as he shoots and becomes the primary scorer in college like we all expect him to be) just off his name. Lamelo went over seas and was drafted just off his name. I mean he’s good obviously but a NBA team picking him up. Idk the situation with JJ but I understand that Memphis wanted 1 player and not a combo deal. JJ is good but probably not a role they need filled. Other than that good he beat those weak charges, like honestly who cares- he shot at a car. He wanted to play gangster and it has derailed his basketball career at its most crucial juncture. You hate to see it, but he made the choice, nobody else did. Really need to take in account that UCF has joined the big 12. Arguably the best Bball conference in college sports. Their team and their overall department as a whole will porbably shift towards increasing or at least being a much more competitive school in that regard and they definitely pitched mikey as being the head of that.

Mike its funny u bring up the idea of g-league ignite because i recently watched a video talking about how the g-league ignite is failing to develop these kids into nba level talents or at least all star level talents. Ik the league is fairly young but when u look at their games they’re playing iso ball versus team ball. In empty arenas versus packed ones. I think college is the move because even though college coaches force u to play in their system, you still get a sense of that team oriented ball and competing at a high level in front of big crowds. Thats my thoughts tho i am interested in your opinion on the G-League ignite

I agree. No crowds mean very little pressure and you’re also likely not being coached very hard. Not a great recipe for success IMO

I hope he makes it out I really do I think a lot these young guys have been brought up in this environment an it’s all the know they need a good lot of people around them to help an guide them to see there is a better life waiting for them if they are willing to work hard an I mean really hard best of luck Mikey ❤

Um, UCF is in the Big 12, and has one of the most aggressive recruiting classes in both football and basketball. He will be competing against plenty of 4 and 5 stars. UCF is the second largest university in the nation. It basically owns Orlando.

It's not that odd! There's several NBA players that came from lesser known schools. Dame, Ja, CJ, and VanFleet to name a few and they have successfully made the jump to the NBA. Only time will tell.

Great decision to go to UCF! He will be playing in the best basketball conference in America hands down! The school is located in Orlando which has over 70k students so not hardly a small school but actually a top two largest school in the nation. He will be coached by Johnny Dawkins an excellent coach to develop guard skills, focus on defense and has high integrity. The school is currently recruiting inpatient a high level with 4* Kyle Green coming in next year and 5* C Thiam committed for 2025 class. So looking at overall health of the program and Big12 conference, GREAT CHOICE Mikey!

The question you need to ask is "Why would Memphis want a potential bust like him on their campus or in their programs?" even if he becomes the next MJ, the risk of him maybe shooting another car up probably isn't worth it.

i think memphis just didnt want to be involved in that nonsense any longer, and they knew taking a look into everything, and possibly suspending him again for his sophomore season could lead to him entering the transfer portal, and if he did that, then this entire situation would leave the team and the university. which tbh i cant blame them for, unneeded attention on your university and athletic department, for a player who was more than likely going to spend 1 year there anyways, just wasnt worth another year or 2 of distractions.
