Not according do the fanboys. I’m the biggest David fan but Benavidez lost his belt twice without losing a fight. That’s not canelos fault. Saying that, I think Alvarez knows that David’s punch output, size, and stamina will be too much for him to handle. If he had trouble against Bivol then David beats him too. It’s well known in the boxing community that David beat up Bivol in sparring.

People forget that is not Canelo doesn't have to fight Benavides because Canelo can do whatever he wants. It's that Benavides has said time and time again he wants a shot at the title that Canelo holds. Think about if you were the #2 168 pounder chasing greatness and to be the greatest you have to beat the greatest like they say. And the greatest at 168 is Canelo. Benavides wants the title & wants to be the #1 champ. Only can be achieved if he gets the fight with the #1 fighter in his weight Canelo. If Canelo keeps avoiding the fihht he should be striped of the Title don't matter if hes Canelo. So then Benavides can fight someone else for the title.
