Galota did absolutely the right thing. When all the fans and trainers were pushing him, Galota knew that he was hurt. Galota did not become a ranked contender by being a coward, he is a brave man! We’ve seen many ‘quitters’ when fighting Tyson, generally they took the floor option.

I'm glad that you posted.. I'm not a Golata fan...not because he quit during this fight...it has to do some with his strategic decisions in other fights and some character flaws over time...but for all the people that say that a mans health is THE most important......if Golata wasn't showing signs of brain damage,,especially with the stuttered start of every phrase,, then I'm Abe Lincoln..and I dont have a beard. That guy was definitely finding a way out but remember, he is a warrior...in front of the world... and maybe he felt things in his brain that scared him in a different than they ever had...and he reacted badly...but you're absolutely right, and he may have saved either his own life or his ability to speak. Ali was THE legend, and he had the chin to be one...he took ALOT of shots.. and look at his quality of health after.. I wanted to ask the interviewer..."So is that what "our" Warriors owe us? How about having your insight match up a bit better with your compassion and supposed priorities." ... virtue signaling tough guy bullshit. That dude is tougher than 98.5% of all humans..lol. Too many suffering with and from symptoms of CTE.. especially the innocent family they go home to. Peace

Everyone thought Tyson would be in jail or dead by now, and now he's doing better than Holyfield, Lewis, and everyone from his era! Tyson has overcome everything and is back on top! That's the Brooklyn spirit and mental toughness!

Golota became the boy who cried wolf in this fight. Because of all his other BS, quitting vs. Grant, beating Bowe's nuts to bits, being KO'd vs. Lewis, etc., everyone just assumed that he cowardly quit here, when in fact he may have saved his own life by quitting the fight.

These suited analysts who haven't boxed a day in their lives criticize a man for prioritizing his well-being over fan service. This is modern boxing not a gladiator match in the Colosseum. It's a full contact sport. It's a fight. It's everybody's responsibility to protect boxers from serious harm . I was appalled at how insensitive everybody was about the whole affair.

@Old Ironsides Thanks for your feedback. Ok, name calling at me, no. That's keyboard warrior shit. I made this comment 3 years ago. After listening to him again, I see where he made some good points. Tyson beat Golota up, but it wasn't a flawless victory and he certainly didn't look like the Tyson of old. Golota, on the other hand had his own problems. I'll meet you in the middle here and that's about all I can do. We can talk boxing rather than arguing on who has the better opinion about commentators.

Feel bad for this dude. Everyone is publicly shaming him while it's obvious the guy has a serious injury that needed evaluated. He ended up almost having a broken neck which could have paralyzed him. He knew something wasn't right and stood up for what is best for him and his family when no one else gave a $hit. His story about the head butt was most likely made up due to the pressure and his attempt to save face so he could keep his job.

He would never quit because he couldn't touch him. He quit because he got as physically fucked up in the ring as much as possible with out dying -- and still standing. And he still stood tall through those shots that would've knocked most top heavyweights out flat on their faces. Golota got destroyed, but he didn't quit because he couldn't touch Tyson. He quit because he had his skull and spine fractured.
