Ойын-сауық

Part 26: • Mike Tyson on Eric Von...
Part 24: • Mike Tyson on Blowing ...
Part 1: • Mike Tyson on 2-Minute...
--------
In this clip, Mike Tyson opened up about Larry Holmes coming out of retirement to fight him after Don King came to his house with $500,000. The story then led to Mike revealing that his friend took $600,000 from Don when he showed up with the large amount of money in cash. When speaking about their fight, Mike admitted that Larry was a great fighter with amazing stamina, but he added that it wasn't meant for Larry to hit him, as his arm got caught in the ropes. To hear more, hit the above clip.

Larry lacked that god like punching power and that’s about all that ever held the guy back. He was a brilliant boxer. That said, Holmes at his best would get rocked fast against Iron Mike at his best. Sad tale really, had Tyson been surrounded with different people he would’ve been the greatest to do it maybe.

A misconception about about Larry Holmes is he was misquoted because he explained once he started boxing at 13-14 but he was just messing around, then he took it serious at 18-19. Then turned pro at 23-24. But Marciano actually started boxing completely at like age 21 lmfao. What an animal. Total respect.

@@flyguy7825 Exactly, remember when i was a young boxer, everytime a big arrogant guy would join the gym, to test their commitment and humility the manager would set them up for sparing with the skinniest, fastest and hardest puncher, time and time again I learned size only matter the early 1st and 2nd minutes, after that all the fights without no exception used to end up like that one with the basket ball player and the youtuber guy's fight in the opening up of last Tyson exhibition fight. From there I never been intimidated by big dudes anymore, no matter how big they look. What most people fail to understand is that like every sport, boxing is more about the mind than actually the physicality and one has to train and raise his pain tolerance to a point where he gets to a level of being able to strategize while receiving blows and able to think about tactics while fighting as larry is explaining in this video, at the novice level this is just very difficult to do instictively your body will be sending the adrenaline all over, u will be shuting down your eyes, bending down, it's just a mess. That's what happens to that basket ball guy, and that's why foreman offered to train him, cause u could tel that the guy just went from basket to boxing without going through the steps of getting his body accustomed to receiving punches or really training. But as I was saying the big dudes in my old gym who overcame that 1st beat up and the one who didn't flee or quite, after learning and training some of them became devastating fighters.

@@oyeku_oyeku its marginally true since there is no way you can prove two individuals had the same diet , sleep, put the same effort into training , had the same coaching and or lifestyle growing up , age or even environment. Im an athete myself and i have large calves , most people tell me it's genetics since there are people that train just like me but have small calves. What they dont know is i have extremely flat feet and i have been using my tippy toes since i was a kid to compensate since running flat foot hurt my feet and gave me blisters. 20 years of doing that is the reason they grew , not genetics. I know some people have more fast twitch and it allegedly leads to more explosive energy but the studies on that are not completely black and white. Now height, arm length , leg length, eye sight are all genetic. Im talking about two individuals that are on par in those respects.

Nobody is born with great genetics. We all have different body types and personality’s and abilities. The trick is for each individual to know themselves enough to know what works for them. Mike is thick so that style worked for him where Bruce Lee was thin so his style worked for him and so forth. The problem is most people are using some else’s style and haven’t found their own or their own way.
