For the first time in his life someone showed Mike what sincere love is. When you grow up as a monster and a cast away you hardly ever get admiration and love like that. He changed Mike's soul by showing him how much he was really worth. This man had no self-esteem before Cus. Cus made him feel like he was a worthy person

I grew up with Mike Tyson meeting him through my cousin who was dating him at the beginning of his fighting days. He has a beautiful heart but lived in the wild streets of Bklyn. We had good times being around him ☺️ he came to my mother house and met her with kind words. Bless his heart and Cus taught him to be Great at what he learned from our streets. 🙏🏽

I remember when I was a very young boy in the Bronx, I had no brothers only sisters. I was walking with my mom near 163rd street in the Bronx, when my mom was approached by this old white maybe Italian guy who wanted to pay her to let me fight a kid that was with him, but she said no. Now I realize that old man was a boxing trainer. I often wished she had let it go down. I had no fear of the situation because my mom was there. I later turned out to be a good fighter. I think that guy saw something in me. I was only about 7-8 yrs old. I would have been a great fighter. I was extremely strong as a child.

I feel like maybe the loss of his one n only true friend n father figure/support system may have also played a part in it all. The rise and the downfall. But hey Only god knows. 🤲🏽🫶🏽🙏🏽

Dude the life this man had already endured before cus came along was probably enough to break any man. On the other hand Cus Dmato is maybe at his lowest so late in life, both on the brink of loosing hope n the will to live/go on anymore. Then out of nowhere god delivers Mike a kind/nurturing soul a home n Cus receives arguably one of the greatest champions to ever enter the ring. They fed and survived off each others love and dedication to one another. That’s the stuff of legends and glory. Praise be to Allah (God)! Divine intervention I guess you could say. Props to the guy risking his hand to comfort Mike in that moment. It takes a lot of balls to touch him, especially when he’s in that headspace, but I’m sure it was very refreshing for him to show some vulnerability and have somebody not be afraid to help him through it, even in a small way

Eventually i warmed up to him because everything he was telling my arrogant teenage ass was true.
