Mike Sold His Farm, Maximizing Hunting Acres For A Giant Buck With Zach Rozmus #hunting #deer
On this week's episode we first join Mike Reed as he heads down memory land on his 52 acre farm in southern Iowa. After getting the chance to roll that property into a new farm closer to home, Mike sold the farm and looks forward to the excitement of setting up and figuring out a new piece which will be on the show throughout the upcoming weeks. We then join Zach Rozmus on Area 52 where he harvested his first buck off of the ground he owns last season. Zach has a huge project that could change the entire structure of the southwest area of the farm where he happened to have an encounter with a giant buck he calls Pretzel on the first sit of the season last fall. With the overall goal of maximizing his acreage to encompass the best opportunities for wildlife food, water, space, and cover, Zach takes the next steps to maximizing every bit of his farm in order to enhance every natural resource he can. Zach compares and contrasts the spot from 2023 to the plan for 2024 and highlights how it may make the area that much more appealing to hunt a deer that doesn't live on his farm.

That was an exciting episode fellas! Can't wait to see Mike's new piece. He said he had been shopping for multiple years so for him to pull the trigger I know it's a good one. Also can't wait to see Zach sitting behind pretzel on that pond dam taking pics....awesome idea! Looks like it turned out great.

Loved the video. FYI instead of using copper sulfate to control algae, I use Bio Verse spheres to control algae. They are all natural and work amazing!

I too have used copper sulfate for algae control,. Ive had good luck with a product called Cutrane. The product I used was just straight pond dye. Just trying to limit sunlight from hitting the bottom of the pond.
Super cool, labor of love. I have a tiny property and love making improvements, one day hope to have bigger pc to work on, unfortunately im not getting any younger.

I hear you there, I'm consumed by the land management. I've logged a lot of blood, sweat, and tears at Area 52, truly never feels like work though. Always feels different working on those types of projects.
Darn 🤦♂️ I’ve been shopping for a retirement property in Iowa for over a year, 56 acres next to 1000 acres of hardwood. Wish I knew!

Ryan, my wife and I named our farm Area 52 as a play on words regarding Area 51. I don't believe there's been any alien sightings down there though!
