Yes, you guys had a great season for sure. Thanks for taking us along. Any deer hunter who gets to experience Iowa in the late season is truly blessed. Late season Iowa is what I think of when it comes to classic hunts. Again, you guys nailed it !

Congratulations Mike. My small acre tract this year was 8.5 acres. Landowner wanted me to take a year off so I improvised. I took a nice buck on my first sit on the lone wolf. Can't wait to see the big 10 hunt.

Thats a Brute. I cant wait to be out there this fall. Im entering the draw with 4 points. Ive talked to Jared about possibly getting on one of his farms. Its hard when you are out of state, having to wait 4-5 years for a tag. Ill be retiring in 5 years, Iowa and Missouri are on top of my list of places to retire.

More like a sear falling on an empty chamber, with just enough time to chamber a round between that sound and the report. Rare to find a bolt with a trigger mounted safety, which can make a similar sound. If it was the safety, you would have heard that loud sound again after the action was over when the safety would have gone back on. Been there, done that. If you hunt long enough it will happen to most. No biggie, he made a quick recovery and put it on him. Nice deer! Congratulations!

This looks just like a field north of Osceola on the west side of the interstate. You can see the box blinds from the Interstate. Great area for big bucks.

Love the show. As an Eastern States guy I have to laugh when midwestern people say small tracks for anything over 20 acres. Anything over 20 is a large parsel to me. I have been trying to talk my wife into getting 20-30 acres in places like maine and she thinks thats a lot of unnecissary property she'd laugh if I tried to get 50 right now without showing what the property could yield . Keep it up and stay ethical!

Illinois Used to have big bucks til they did away w Check Stations and Archery huntin got overcommercialized every Tom Dick and Harry came to town to whack an Illinois whopper and end up Shootin a basket rack 6-8pt.just to brag they got an Illinois buck.jmho.

That sucks, I got off my butt and knocked on some doors. Shot my first buck with a bow this year. 163 inches

I love to see Mike be successful not sure there are many that work harder than Mike. I just can’t relate to this content. Having 50+ deer in a field at any one time isn’t a reality for 95% of all hunters. Nothing against Mike and the MW team, I just have struggled to relate to their content as of late. Great buck Mike!

Brian, from my understanding that blind was previously there from the last owner. Mike moved one of his newer models there so that he could use the vertical windows to bow hunt out of should he choose. Thank you for taking the time to watch this episode, all of us really appreciate the support!

We're extremely fortunate to have a DNR like we do that has practices in place to provide such great hunting for everyone. Hopefully you made it to that second hunt and got to see it for yourself.
