based on the comments here it seems few people realize that this is in fact the original version of the song. The popular version is actually a remix. I bet mike never expected this version to be as significant as it is. Music is such a beautiful and powerful thing, I hope he realizes the difference his music has made on so many peoples lives. Despite his success he sure is underrated.

I broke up with my ex and I found out this life it’s not just about making family and having kids and about future , love yourself and live the way you wanna live . And if time comes you can share your happiness with someone who deserve it .

It was released with that version, but the acoustic version we're hearing here is actually the first track on that album. So I don't think his real art was necessarily hidden, though I agree that big labels do pressure artists a lot to be radio-friendly.
