Honestly, do you think when Mike made the originals he thought, "Wow, I bet the fans just care about stupid generic beats made by stupid generic 'artists' to take over and overpower the whole song and its meaning!" No, he obviously made them, especially on The Truth EP to convey meaning. Lol, imagine the feeling of writing and recording songs about redemption and soul searching just to have it covered up by stupid beats only mouthbreathers who care about a "sick beat" and dime a dozen techno/EDM beats. Probably wouldn't feel as good as people listening to the original that has the meaning a lot more displayed with simple music in the back (like the flute at the beginning)
