The Austin Powers trilogy remains, for my taste, among the gems of comedy, up there with Airplane!, Top Secret!, The Naked Gun; and also Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles and High Anxiety. There are franchises that will always be enjoyable (Peter Sellers & Blake Edwards' Clouseau series comes to mind) and this is one of them. Silly, fun stuff. I suspect that anyone else could have easily thought up a bawdy spoof of 007 films with loads of 1960's fashion and music, but Mike Myers was the perfect comedian to see it to fruition. This had to be a dream come true for someone like him.

The song Mike Myers does is a great example of how you can write a song with just 1 riff. It doesn't need to be too complicated to sound good.
The way Leno was always reaching over and touching his guests. Ugghh.

Ah, how I miss the 90's. 😔
I met Mike Myer’s when Shrek got his star on the walk of fame. He’s a nice and incredibly funny guy. He also talked to me about Austin Powers 4 where Dr. Evil would be living in his parents basement before coming out of retirement. Wish he’d made it but I don’t think he will.

People had no idea what a phenomena it would beat the time. I saw it in the cinema but most didn't and it only made very modest box office then smashed it on VHS and DVD and by the time AP2 came out it was huge.
This was recommended to me a day after watching the movie...

There is nothing Mike Meyers cannot make fun of. He’s a comedy icon, with so many characters, and just that funny. He really is “a cheeky little monkey.” Mischievously, stomach achingly funny.

Amazing number at the end especially considering that he had nothing prepared!
That lil throat growl is just perfect for him🥺😂🔥 2nd best , next to Eartha Kitt's iconic purr❤
So talent
