It was nice hearing Edgar's praise for his sister. I played with her one season in the Knoxville Symphony when she was a senior in high school and I enjoyed her playing very much. Not a lot of flash and sizzle, but a sweet sound and beautiful intonation, just solid musicianship. A lovely person to boot.
At 2.20 , the hardest thing to explain to pupils 'let yourself be patient enough to love the work'.

Absolutely... I like playing Charlie Parker tunes as ballads but there is a “machismo “ attitude that poopoos this.
