Mike, your are right. If you insulate, you must ventilate. And with the right equipment you can recover heat that would normally be lost. The physical equivalent is an engine in a car. It takes in air to create combustion. But it must get rid of the combustion gasses. So in this example, if I plug the air filter, air cannot get into the engine. This results in loss of power and incomplete burning of fuel, like logs or gas in a fireplace. Thanks Mike for educating the general public because learner never stops, even if a home owner never built as much as a bird house. Their home is a complex group of systems that come together from the foundation, proper water management, HVAC & filter + recovery system, insulation, structure and roofing. But they buy based upon looks that make feel good and perhaps make friends and family jealous. Until something happens that is not good! Thank you! Have a lucky one. Ken K. Omaha, NE.

Mike, we love your shows, but 57 seconds is just not enough. Please make a full 20-30 plus minute video of the actual work being done. You are a teacher, please show us the details. I know thousands of people will tune in to watch. Thank You for all you do!

I know you want to have more insulation on the outside, but why didn't you use Nudura's thicker ICF panels on the outside or use a wider ICF and insert their foam inserts on the out-side of the panel then pour concrete??
