Not even HALF of her followers followers follow her on instagram, where she claims to be a makeup artist, WITH CLIENTS. She does not have clients. She NEVER shows anyone or has an option to BOOK her. When she was working at ULTA she had clients. But since being an influencer she HAS NOT had clients. Yet she would continuously post about having them and then never showing a look on a client, only EVER on herself. THEN, when she DID do makeup on someone else (her mother I believe) SHE USED HER OWN FOUNDATION ! Don’t makeup artist have all shades ? How does a makeup artist not know color matching is different even in family ? Especially when she uses self tanner. She’s a fraud. People use literally all mental illnesses as a scapegoat at this point. Whether they have them or not. It’s a popular way to try and get out of repercussions because people don’t want to be mean to someone who’s saying they’re mentally ill. Mental health isn’t your fault but it’s your responsibility. I don’t get to just say “well I have ADHD, and anxiety, and depression, and PTSD” every time someone calls me out on something. My actions are still my own and I’m responsible for them. We have access to the internet, so we in turn have access to the bare minimum of tools to help us understand our emotions and cope with them so we don’t take it out on others.

As a guy who suffers from social anxiety, I can tell you that the last thing you're going to be able to do is be rude to someone. Maybe in a moment of crisis you can be more disconnected, or uncomfortable, but the simple fact that you take the attitude of being an asshole to someone, goes against your "social anxiety"
@arosenthal3318

ok so it’s obviously less likely for someone with social anxiety to be outwardly rude. People with mental illness can still suck though. People struggle with different things. Those suffering with social anxiety can still be outspoken at times, and they can also be dicks. Symptoms differ for everyone. most of this shit is internal anyway. I have had diagnosed generalized anxiety disorder since I was 16, I can definitely be an asshole when I’m going through a rough spot with it even if that makes it worse. She does and says some things that many overlook .. and I guess if I am being honest, I could also overlook, it doesnt really affect me, or upset me, just annoys me.. and I kind of get that second hand embarrassment for her, super cringey.. Shes old enough to know better. Also, I dont know what shes referring to when she says her "job is so hard", I know plenty who do jobs that are a thousand times more involved and TRULY HARDER than what shes doing daily. My brother, as an example, would probably much rather sit around an air conditioned mansion, opening boxes of FREE mail from brands and companies, than standing inside a barn on a 100 degree day full of cow poop drilling out concrete and laying pipes for 14 hours a day.. but hey who am I to say anything.. cause now im just being insensitive, right? lol

Makayla is from Rehoboth isnt she? which is like two towns over from me. That phony accent is ridiculous!! nobody from Boston or NJ sounds like that hot mess lmao. That's not even a FR accent! I don't notice my accent until I hear myself on video or whatever. Yes, there is a Boston, Rhode Island etc accent, but that right there that she has going on is just nonsense and annoying.

I barely know of her, but I always assumed she was in her 40s at least because of the accent (and she doesn't look 24 to me). It's fairly true that accents are becoming more homogeneous among younger people in the U.S. My grandma is 70 and she used to have a thicker accent being from Oklahoma. She has lived in Oregon with my mom, dad, my sisters and me for 21 years where accents are much more flat and generic. She basically has no trace of that accent when speaking normally.

The one thing that really shows exactly who Mikayla is and what she represents, especially as a beauty influencer who constantly sells products, is that she ALWAYS uses filters in every single one of her videos. So essentially every video is a lie. Not just the mascara one or any of the others she has been called out for... ALL of them.
My Issue isn't even the fact she lied. It's the fact that she made so many videos making fun of other influencers for being fake and lying about products and then turned around and did this.

There is not ACTUALLY 14.7 million subscribers. They’re BOTS. It’s been shown MANY times in the subreddit all the comments are from accounts with same like names (AND PICTURES) who comment the exact same things. Not even HALF of her followers followers follow her on instagram, where she claims to be a makeup artist, WITH CLIENTS. She does not have clients. She NEVER shows anyone or has an option to BOOK her. Her content doesn’t revolve around being a MAKEUP ARTIST. Just someone playing with the makeup. But yet she would keep making videos about having clients.

I do think she at times exaggerates the accent. I have been living in Massachusetts for close to 10 years and a lot of people have the same accent as her. I also know of people here who fake a more normal accent and their actual accent will come out ocassionally.

Some people don’t under how EASY it is to fake accents ESPECIALLY if you’ve ever been anywhere close to acting. I can go to my American accent to my theater Scottish accent to my theater German accent at will. It really is THAT easy and some people won’t know the difference of theater and irl accents

Her saying her job is so hard is actually funny. I stand for 7-8 hours a day in the salon then go and work 4 hours at my second job just so my bills can get paid. Yes being a influencer has its own individual struggles but it’s not as hard as she’s trying to perceive it to br

I agree with you. I’m a cybersecurity engineer and my job is much harder than hers. I deal with tough situations, I see some of the worst things happen. It can get mentally taxing. Influencing is hard but it’s nothing compared to other jobs. I’m a woman in a man’s world I’m more likely to face abuse from my own colleagues and employers. She’s a woman in a woman’s world, she isn’t as likely to face these issues as me.

My dad used to work a 6-8 job which was terrible for what he was being paid. I didn't really see my dad most week days. And on weekends he had to deal with 4 kids, two snobby teen boys and two girl children. My mom stayed home to take care of us so most of my memories were of her and not my dad. And she wants to complain about having a job she actually enjoys!?

I'm from Fall River but dated two men from Cambridge and both of them commented on my accent, which is closer to a NJ/NY accent. I say its a Fall River accent, lol. Makayla is from Rehoboth isnt she? which is like two towns over from me. That phony accent is ridiculous!! nobody from Boston or NJ sounds like that hot mess lmao. That's not even a FR accent! I don't notice my accent until I hear myself on video or whatever. Yes, there is a Boston, Rhode Island etc accent, but that right there that she has going on is just nonsense and annoying.

thats what im saying. and its not like her job is difficult anyway. she sits in front of a camera and puts up on makeup that she was most likely sent. even if she worked 14 hour days, for the insane money she makes compared to the average person is ridiculous

@@rav0nnI’m a nurse anesthetist (CRNA) and my hours are 5a-1p in the OR. I make mid six figures for inducing patients in same day surgery. Non specialized RN’s work 12h shifts doing backbreaking work depending on their area and do not make six figures. I go around putting people to sleep for way more money. Nothing really hard there for me. For me to say being a nurse is easy would be crappy. For this lady to equivocate her job is harder than laypersons is a fallacy and insulting to a significant portion of people. It’s so sad when you go around unscrewing people’s light bulbs so that you can shine.
