Yes every company does pre-swatches, but the problem is: she likes to lie. Make up companies ARE transparent, She refuses to be transparent about ANYTHING. When shes called out, she shrugs her shoulders and falls back on the people that throw money at her. She has done damage and refuses to acknowledge it.

She likes the exposure it gives her, bcuz unfortunately the terrible people out there are the ones other's want to watch...It's bcuz they do things that we don't commonly see, or insane things we never see, and we humans are curious by nature. It's why we stare down a car crash as we pass it. Doesn't make u a bad person for watching a terrible person do terrible things...Unless there is something you could do to stop them of course. Not to defend Mikayla, but the US vs. UK thing is so on the company. I'm a web designer and they should have had a auto redirect to the US store based on IP. And there should have been a banner on the UK in case a US person slipped through letting them know. That's a tech error. Their logistics are a nightmare all around it seems.

UX designer here. I second this. Poor design/sufficient research on P. Louise’s part. If you know you’re partnering with an American influencer and that sales are largely going to be shipped to the US… you need a better design that makes the distinction clear.

It is literally so common worldwide. US people are way too used to being catered to and being the default. Outside the US it’s so common to be sent to the US site regardless of IP and we’re always being charged insane amounts for shipping. There was a tab for the US, which is far more than more US sites offer. Ideally it would be IP based but it’s just so common to auto direct to the US site. They did better than a lot of retailers by at least having that tab.

Plus as others have mentioned most sites will redirect you based on the IP, or at least ask. People who paid extra shoulda been more careful but I wouldn’t chalk it up to privilege or thefuckever, just experience. Anyways, that a weird conclusion to make “that Americans are so used to being catered “ that they don’t know to check site origin of an American influencer in America. Girl, it’s not “technically” take you to the UK site. It does. Period. Normally when you to go a site it will redirect you automatically to the proper site you are located in because of your IP. Anyone who bought this is a fool.

You see eyeshadow already there, sparkles on the skin and powder dulling the red tape and all Once you see it, you can't unsee it. But yeah it looked suspicious even if you don't catch this

I went on the website and the pricing for some of the items are ridiculous. For a 10 piece makeup brush set it is 48 dollars with percent off. The original price is a 100 dollars. The full collection at is orginal price 211 dollars but right now it is on sale for 130. Her eye shadow palette is 45 dollars. But what really sets me off is that her brush and eyeshadow palette combined is 93 dollars on sale for 70. GUYS IT IS NOT WORTH IT.

I live in New Zealand. Everytime i check out, I double check that I’m on the right site. It’s not that difficult, and no one forced them to buy their items from the UK site. It’s a bit ridiculous, and so often it seems that Americans have to have someone hold their hands through a process. I was just thinking the colors look actually pretty but yet again Mikayla finds a way to mess it up.. Even if she's not the one that did it she did post it and I'm sure she's aware that they don't swatch like that on one go since it's her product. Had they just shown what they look like on skin it would have been fine but not to act like that was a one swatch situation because now it's creating doubt in my mind that wasn't there previously.

Kinda side-eyeing the website that it's not clear they have a U.S. and U.K website. Every website I've been on that has U.S and U.K website, or has multiple currencies, has prompted me to move to their other website if I started on the wrong one. They'll also usually have a little flag at the top. Having it tucked away in the tabs isn't clear enough, in my opinion

After the last video I was WAITING for someone to say something about the swatches lol this is what used to happen all the time back in the day!

I am a US person and I always check that. But I am an adult with a lifetime experience with shopping. I think the issue was that most of the people buying this pallet were kids. They are the only ones who continue to support her. I don't love her or hate her, I'm just sick of hearing about her.

Like oh let me just be perfectly clear, concise, and perfect when I speak about how to take your money but I'll use my fake Masshole accent for everything else because I'm nothing but a fake character creation of a human.

if you go to 1:51 you can clearly see that Mikayla has both face primer and liquid foundation on her arm to help the eyeshadow look more pigmented in the swatches. look at the difference in shade between her hand and wrist - her hand is pale white with veins, but her wrist+arm are both orange/tan with zero flaws. most people don't put foundation on their eyelids, or if they do, they powder over the foundation before they apply shadow because if you don't powder, your eyeshadow won't blend well against the liquid foundation base. it's the same reason that you apply powder on the face before powder blush - if you don't, the powder blush will just stick in one spot leaving you looking like a clown. cream blushes are made specifically for people with dry skin who don't wear much powder - so that their cream blush will blend well with their liquid foundation sans powder. many people don't even use eye primer (which has a powder finish formula) on their eyes, let alone sticky face primer + a layer of wet foundation, meaning that the sneaky double swipe on these swatches aside, she's being even sneakier by covering her arm in face primer and liquid foundation to make the colors pop even more. Mikayla really is not the brightest, is she? all she had to do was put foundation on her hand, or cut her hand out of the frame, and I never would've been able to prove that she was manipulating the pigment of these shades, but I guess she was either too lazy or too foolish to actually do either. who in the world is still buying based on her recommendations after lashgate? not me.

Ppl complain, complain and complain about their orders but what’s hilarious is they still keep buying from the same influencer knowing the issues from past orders!!! When will ppl ever learn? As far as these influencers they are not concerned about any issues now or in the future bc they know ppl will continue to buy from them!!! I preordered the Advent Calendar of p.louise at the beginning of November and have received it last week. I live in Switzerland so I was surprised how quick it came. But just cause I had a good experience doesn’t mean anything and I think they should have gotten the shipment solved before launching another big collection AND mention the US website cause shipping from UK is a hefty price.

The pre-swatch thing doesn't matter tbh. You never achieve such intense pigment from shadows anyway because you shouldn't be applying that much pressure one way or another. Brush swatches are more honest but nobody does them lol.

I bought a few things from this website about a week before she announced her collection. I was super excited! I went to my P.O. Box to pick up my order and had to pay 47 friggen dollars!! In duties! I was so pissed lol but paid it anyway but I will never be ordering from them again

Not surprised for what’s going on with that company. I bought from them last year. Paid a total of $65 dollars (15$ of shipping) Didn’t received my package and they told me they don’t send it to PO Box, then I gave them my address and they told me they delivered it. I HAVE CAMARAS IN MY HOUSE AND THAT PACKAGE NEVER CAME. When I ask them again and told them the issue, they accused me of lying 🤥 and they treated me VERY NASTY. I still have the emails. At the end I let it slide. I rather loose $65 than my patience and dignity 😅

My first order from P Louise was also my last. That was two years ago. Theyve always been messy.

No matter how badly I want the item I wait to see how people review it and photos of whatever it is in use and after use.
