Forgot to mention how broken this card would be with Parallel Lives to double up the tokens that are created by Miirym

Sneak attack is super spicy. You have the sacrifice the creature at end step but you keep the token copy

I have a "red deck wins" Lathliss dragon tribal deck that absolutely tears it up in commander pods, even against Ur-Dragon decks, and now Im looking to add Miirym to my collection. I loved building and refining my Lathliss deck, so I know that I'll be able to build a very high caliber Miirym deck to rival the Dragon Queen. She wont replace the Queen, but she sure as hell will have a home in my collection. I'm so hyped!

Adrix & Nev ventured into the forgotten realms. There they found a muse granting people's wishes while playing on the panharmonicon. Adrix always wanted a pet, Nev wanted to see a dragon. And suddenly, as commanded by their wishes, there stood Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm as their new pet dragon.

I just won by playing Terror of the Peaks onto a Battlefield where Miirym, Thessa and a Panharmonicon were sitting. There were a total of 140dmg to assign with the end-of-turn flicker.

I love him and would've built him as a commander if I didn't already have an ur-dragon set, but he is certainly going in the 99

I have a Tiamat deck and what I did was just build Miirym using some of the dragons in Tiamat and have the same sleeves as well but different deck boxes. You may need to keep a list of what is in the 2 decks so you remember which ones you borrowed and didnt haha. A lot of good dragons anyways are in Gruul colors so my Tiamat and Miirym have a lot of similarities.

Rakdos Treasure-based decks are going to love some of these cards. Ancient Copper Dragon is wild.

A nice synergy with this commander is clones. If you play a Sakashima copying Miirym it'll enter the battlefield as a nontoken dragon and Miirym will give you a token copy of it, so you'll have 3 Miiryms, which will net you 3 additional tokens every time a nontoken dragon ETBs under your control

Then you could add something to flicker the original Miirym. Suddenly you now have 5 Miiryms on the field. I could see this getting out of hand quickly.

Been looking at him since he was spoiled...definitly picking up this dragon decl for baldurs gate and miirym to make a deck

I run a Gruul Atarka Dragon Deck, and this Card realy makes me consider upgrading it to Timur

changeling berserker + a sac outlet gos infinite with this Commander. It can make infinite of any dragon you have or just get infinite etb triggers

My personal Mirymm deck gets too many tokens for ancient silver dragon to be effective at killing anyone but myself. I once was forced to draw 127 and lost lmao. Also, I have never cast earthquake dragon for more than 1 green and a 1 mana 20/20 flample across 2 bodies is just bonkers

Nice concept. how do you protect the dragons from removal spells and board wipes? counterspells? Trying to build this deck after watching your vid. Sub added.

Even a basic Red Dragon with a Panharmonicon out becomes a 24 damage slug across the table - and you're left with 3 Red Dragons in the air. From there, even a simple Teferi's Time Twist becomes lethal, as you generate another 3 Red Dragons, for a total of 48 damage to each opponent.

Man, I remember when Karrthus was my go-to dragon tribal commander. One of the first decks I ever built and it's kinda sad that he's underpowered now.

Klauth makes a lot of mana, but you can't use it for Hellkite Charger. On Klauth it is written that you can only spend the mana to cast spells.

My brother in christ, it seems you forgot the other WUBRG commander brought to us by the Forgotten Realms set, Tiamat! I have a commander deck with her as the Commander & Miirym in the 99, and Tiamat's tutor ability has won me multiple games when combined with Miirym, Klauth, and Scourge of Valkas. I would be remiss to not mention this as I played my deck earlier and got a nasty turn 8 victory against a decent table, something to maybe look at in a future video visiting Dragon Tribal decks.

I played a Volo, Guide to Monsters deck and it combos often with Spark Double and Twinning Staff I feel like Miirym is a dragon volo so I'm all about it

I have used Mirror of life Trapping and Visuvan Duplimacy to have 5 Miirym in play at once,. yeah,. it was awesome. Miirym is my primary commander deck.

So many overpowered cards! I hope there are adequate answers/hosers as well.

Iv been looking into this myself and I found making copies of miirym can be insane. I found myself winning extremely fast and pulling out insane numbers of dragons or using cards to make other creatures into dragons like the god that deals 2 dmg to each opponent. I was able to make 15 copies of him and kill everyone instantly

I’m currently building this. Looks fun as hell

Miirym + Doubling Season will be so hilarious. And yeah, put in Sarkhan Unbroken and it's absolute chaos on the board 😂

@@DragonProtector I virtually playtested; the most bonkers I have managed so far was a non-infinite combo with miirym + 2x ganax and Temur ascendancy + pyre of heroes + prime speaker vannifar Ended up making so many treasures and drawing so many cards that at the point when I finally managed to run out of mana and treasures my board state was at the point ( thanks to 2x thrakkus + 2x atarka world render) I swung with a total of 376 dmg (since everything had haste and double strike) on turn 6. 😂😂😂😂

I am a big fan of token/copy decks. Might even pop in Adrix and Nev and/or Esix

Miirym can go infinite with Deadeye Navigator soulbonded to Ganax Astral Hunter or Rapacious Dragon for infinite treasures and ETBs. Use Dragon Tempest or Scourge of Valkas as an infinite damage outlet from the ETB triggers.

Already built and ordered cards for my first rendition of a deck for this commander. wanting with a lot of excitement. Dry-testing online shows how ridiculous this commander can be even on a budget with a lot of blink effects. can really recommend "identity thief" as a budget option to copy Miirym along with Irenicus Vile Duplication. for good measure I also added in Spark Double and Deadeye Navigator. Why have 1 Miirym when you can have 12?

how many copies of her can fit in one cast, if we put a panharmonicon, reflections of littjara, parallel lives, and a moritte with 2 copies due to the last 2 aforementioned cards, copying each of those first 3 permanents?

What about Dragon’s Approach and the new Displacer Kitten. Cast DA, blink a dragon, then if you have four or more copies in the graveyard, exile, then fetch another dragon.

Would "Spark Double" work with this commander's trigger if it copies a Dragon on the board? Do I get a token Spark Double?

Bro Ganax is broken. Each DRAGON, not nontoken, DRAGON entering makes a treasure token. That paired with this commander and Goldspan Dragon is ridiculous.

I pulled miirym at my commander pre release and I bounced ganax like three times and it got so out of hand so fast I turned it into an actual deck but it’s insane with song of creation and beast whisperer every time you cast a dragon draw three get a bunch of treasures and you fly through the deck

Gotta have Rite of Replication to copy the tokens of some of the legendary dragons or Terror/Valkas. Getting multiple copies of Utvara Hellkite would also be fun!

Pair that cloudstone with a sneak attack. Make as many copies as you have red mana available cuz the token will enter after the original which triggers curio letting you bounce the original and repeat. Theres a couple of dragons that etb with treasures, that would go infinite too.

Nobody ever seems to mention obsidian charmaw. He's a beast in any meta utilizing powerful land, But in this one, he is likely a cheap dragon that helps with your mana curve while royally screwing over your opponents

Miirym is actually far from a new take on a dragon commander. See Lathliss Dragon Queen. Overall you pretty much want to build the deck the same way, with the same goals. It's all about those etb triggers. Your commanders triggers, and slaughter your enemies with triggers from Dragon Tempest, Scourge of Valkas, and Terror of the Peaks. Of course we should also definitely be running Panharmonicon to double up on these etb triggers as well. I highly recommend Cryptic Gateway, it can allow you to just machine gun down your opponents at instant speed. Lathliss is a brutal commander, and I can't wait to have access to more colors!

You forgot to mention how great it is with clones like spark double or either sakashima. If you copy your commander it'll trigger it and you'll get a non legendary copy of it. Then till be making 3 token copies of every dragon you play

Don't forget for instance Esika's Chariot to copy your dragon tokens or even better Phantom Steed where you exile a dragon then start getting ETB tokens that are tapped and attacking and if they kill the Steed your dragon comes back getting another ETB and copying the dragon card making another ETB. Or Identity Thief copying a dragon while blinking them. Also they put another Spark Double in THIS set that is like 50 cents Irenicus's Vile Duplication. Obviously slightly different but gets the job done here.

If you use a clone to copy Miirym, you get a non-legendary token copy. So even though you'd have to sacrifice either the original or the clone for the legend rule, you'd then be making two copies of every dragon entering.

I play Miirym in my Tiamat Commander deck and its absolutely nutty, here are some funny combos since you get to search 5 dragons Miirym and Kyodai are funny, making Kyodai target Tiamat and making the copy target Kyodai. A chain of indestructible dumbasses. Ziatora for New Capena is great, make a copy, go to the end step, and either blow up two dragons or have normal Ziatora blow up the 7/7 token of itself. Nothing quite like having a copy of the Silver or Copper Dragon out and rolling anything above 10 to get like 30 treasure tokens or draw 30 cards. Scion of the Ur-Dragon just lets you have two copies of any dragon in your deck so you never have to worry about summoning some of the larger dragons. Ziatora and Kyodai just finish games, Kyodai's +5/+5 isn't one per turn so you can do it twice, get a plus 10, attack and in the end let Ziatora blow her up for 10 extra damage

I like this one better than UR dragon I think. Didn’t even get into the degeneracy that is possible with worldgorger dragon.

My clone theme Miirym deck is just disgusting. Just this last weekend I made 12 copies of Miirym by turn 6. I played terror of the peaks on T7. The table just conceded. 🤣🤣🤣

Putting orvar in this deck as a secret commander and using targeted spells instead of counters becuase usually your trying to defend you board rather stopping you opponent

There isn't that many instant/sorcery that do the work and better ways to get copies of your dragons without shifting the deck to accomodate Orvar. Its okay?

@@regaleagle6533 Sorry who are you responding to, it isn't clear. I am reading the "Its okay?" part sarcastically, correct me if I am wrong. If I am not, the attitude is not necessary. I personally was here to bring up how Orvar could be a fun addition. [[Essence Flux]], [[Ghostly Flicker]], [[Teferi's Time Twist]], [[Displace]], and [[Siren's Ruse]] are some cheap (potentially defensive) effects to double up on the etbs and cloning. In the case Orvar is out (who is also a dragon btw) it could be advantageous. Also, not trying to suggest "BETTER" ways necessarily, but rather optional paths. Besides, these cantrips don't need Orvar out, be if it is, you get an additional copy. I think it is worth testing.

@@lokumo13 don't worry, orvar was a pick for me too, tho I was more thinking of a clone tribal, but even then orvar would be a killer in a dragon tribal deck with this new legendary as it's commander. If orvar etb after the commander, you get two of him, the you can not necessarily cast flicker effect but even copy spells like rite of replication to make an absurd amount of tokens and just flood the board with it. I might just do that actually

@@lokumo13 compare Orvar to various other 4 drops. You spark double now you get 4 of each dragon. You don’t need to lean heavy into poor instant/sorcery flicker it just happens. You pop Adrix and Nev double tokens when you play dragons instantly not play dragons then need other spells to copy those dragons. Twinning staff just makes more dragons you don’t need other cards. If you are leaning into a sub theme you probably shouldn’t be in he’s okay. 👌

Pretty awesome dragon support last year...... Draconic Rage was a BS Commander preconstructed deck. I bought it and i can only get rid of it by either setting it on fire or trading it to a store for 15- 20 dollars store credit. I cant even get what i paid. Fuck that old deck and the people who put it together.

For the simple reason that Tiamat is a 5 color Dragon commander and essentially tutors for 5 game winning Dragons EVERYTIME she is played.... I'll stick with her as my Commander. You play her you usually run away with the game. With this commander. Not only do you only have access to only 3 color mana, but you must also have those really good dragons in your hand. Otherwise he is a big flying 6/6 dragon and nothing else
