Technically Germany should dominate in air late ww2 in war thunder. And that's why no historical matchmaking. It would be Germany in jets, every one else in props from 6.0 to 7.3 can u imagine all the crying then?

​@TeamValkyrie2023 and also historically, the Luftwaffe still used props in the late stages of the war because they couldnt produce enough 262s. And also historically, early jets arent that much better than late war props. With that said I never played props vs jets. ☠️

@derbyjr if you make them more profitable then they are useful to the player. Do you mean making AA bases that need heavier bomb loads than fighters and attackers to destroy or something? That only a bomber can destroy? Because thats the only "usefulness" fix I can think of.

@@ThunDoom1116 no like instead of just in frontline matches, make bases count for all matches so the bomber players actually have a way to contribute to the match. Or make a game mode like the air assault mode but exclusively for bombers where instead of AI bombers and attackers, have the players in bombers and attackers and the AI in fighters

@@ThunDoom1116 well they recently made it so the bombers couldn't destroy the airbases anymore. I only saw that happen once, so its not like it happened all the time and ruined the game. It was a difficult goal to reach but at least it was a goal to achieve. Also the ai turrets are just awful. Even when maxed out they wont do anything. The last time a tail gunner actually did something for me, it finished off the yak9 that i had already set on fire with a bomb. poor accuracy from the ai is frustrating, but whats 10x worse is when the gunner dosent even shoot in the first place. Enemys will sit on your tail within spitting distance and the ai wont do jack about it. as for manually controlling turrets, it has an extremely steep learning curve, and the only way to learn is many hours of frustrating failure. a Tutorial and practice mission would go a very long way to help on that. also putting bombers like the b29 in tiers with jets is just dumb. the only real defense a bomber has is its altitude, and when facing jets thats not a viable option anymore. so, just bringing back the ability to destroy airfields and end the match would be a small help. Making it so the bombers aren't just easy prey, increasing their survivability would be better. I dont care if you somewhat reduce the rewards for ai gunner kills, just make the AI work for crap's sake. a separate bomber game mode might be nice, but to be honest I would be happy just by giving worth while targets in the normal mode, where my bombs actually contribute something to the match. That, and making it so they aren't just sitting ducks. so, 1. give the bomber players targets that actually help win the game 2. improve the ai gunners so that they'll actually do something to help 3. add a tutorial and training mission to help learn manual turret control 4. stop putting b29's against jets this isn't a perfect list, but I think it would be a good step in the right direction.

Bit disappointing that we haven’t see some of the real gems from the golden age of aviation come to the game. The B-47 Stratojet, the B-36 Peacemaker, B-32 Dominator, B-58 Hustler. So many beautiful airplanes.

mostly due to the fact that bombers are generally useless in the game modes of war thunder. They need to somehow change the game modes to make bomber more useful.

@@thitran1362 They were useful, when airfields where an option to destroy, there was a need to support bombers and or destroy them to stop them in the background ending the game. But many fighter players who only focused fighter v fighter did not like having to attack bombers, so they removed airfields and made it so that bomber bases make a fraction of ground target point impact. This with the limit to 25minute matches from 60minutes originally means bombers cannot do what they used to.

American heavy Bombers are awesome IRL, but flying American heavy bomber's in WarThunder is so rough. The Durability in game feels so bad and the gunners won't engage automatically unless the plane is close enough to scrape the bomber. The b29 being at it's BR should be illegal

@@devlintaylor9520 What rounds are hitting you. If they are purely armour piercing then no it shouldn't. If they are explosive fragmentation rounds like meingeschoss then just like irl the compartment is overpressured and destroyed. There is a boat load of evidence even from some bombers that somehow were lucky enough to survive a 20-30mm meingeshoss round to the trailing edge of their wing and got home. And I really do mean a Single round.

Gaijin has been sleeping on WW2 aircraft for a while. Almost nothing new added.

Yeah, and there's at least 3 different B-52's to add with different tail weapons, one that had 4x 50 cal, one that had an M61 Vulcan 20mm, and one with electronic jammers. And IRL they had the ability to lock on to enemy aircraft an automatically engage. We have a bunch of useless meme tanks in game, but people think strategic bombers wouldn't work because there's no gameplay option. There's no excuse to not add them, it's OK if they're just a joke in the game.

The reason they aren't adding the b-52 was because it is an aircraft still in service, and because of all the leaked documents and such warthunder has been associated with, they do not want that to happen with the b-52

Well USA already has a lot of aircraft. Adding that aircraft to the UsA tech tree would make the game in-balanced as they also have to find a B.R for it. I am aware that the B-52 had a propeller prototype, but that’s not my point.

At a minimum, we should get the B-24J (the most-produced Liberator) and B-24M (the final production model Liberator) with their nose turrets. And probably the single-tailed XB-24N prototype, the ultimate Liberator.

you should add the b36, b50, and b52, and give bombers a slight buff, and you should also add the b1. those would make the game so much more fun.

How to fix bombers in War Thunder: move all 4.0-12.7 bombers down 1.0 BR or more, make the AI gunners useful again, make bombers spawn at 9km, fix bomber MG bullet spread, buff bomber MG spall damage, and adjust base health as needed.

Health... In war thunder???? 20 and 30mm cannons are doing accurate damage. Plus CAS is already dominating at any tier in mixed battles. So for air battles maybe but keep them where they're at in mixed.

Yet no mention of the B-23 Dragon, B-32 Dominator, B-50 Super(Duper)Fortress, and B-54 UltraFortress. All of which are incredibly important to US piston-engine bomber development and could be added to improve the bomber tree before moving on to jets without getting too crazy (like the B-36 would be).

You need to buff bombers man, atleast buff or make the wing spars stronger because them things are always snapping when they get hit by the smallest caliber bullet As soon as people fly in bombers they get tickled by a couple shots and the whole plane falls appart like lego bricks

I would like to see the XB-35 and YB-49 to the game which they could be added because there’s actual footage of them and were fully tested but never saw service, so if they were to be added to the game they would most likely be premium or anniversary/event vehicles or something like that.

Yes yes, everything amazing but, you completely destroyed the bomber gameplay with the respawninng base, the jet bomber are the worst Il28, Canberra, Voutur totaly useless, Tu4, B29, B17 why i can't destroy the airfield anymore?

Idea.....limit bomber players per game and... if I play as one b17 (just for example) I command a small formation of them and can switch between bombers like switching between squad members in enlisted. Either that or include an ai formation - because a single bomber in war thunder is pointless and just a free kill for the majority of players.

We need a bomber game mode! Called "flight intercept" It could introduce a machanic that could allow the player key bind "match speed" allowing bombers to create smooth formations.

Error spotted: B-29 was used in Europe, but only for 1 mission. Another error is the lack of B-36, 47 and 52. There's also the upgraded version of the B-29 known as the B-50. Gaijin, as the only B-36 fan there is, please fix.

Good stuff, Gaijin. 🫡 There are so many US bombers and strike aircraft I've been hoping will eventually be added to War Thunder. Like the B-58 Hustler, B-36 Peacemaker, B-47 Stratojet, P4M Mercator, B-50 Superfortress, B-45 Tornado, AJ Savage, A-3 Skywarrior, B-66 Destroyer, B-52 Stratofortress, B-1 Lancer, A-5 Vigilante, S-3 Viking, A-37 Dragonfly, or OV-10 Bronco. There are a bunch of specific variants for some planes we already have in-game I'd sure love to see added, too. Like the SBD-5/6 Dauntless, B-26F/G Marauder, F-84E Thunderjet, F-105B/D T-Stick II/G Thunderchief, F-111F Aardvark, A-6A/C/E SWIP Intruder, AV-8B/B+ Harrier II, or A-10C Thunderbolt II.

There’s only one super sonic bomber - with flares in Warthunder. Can you guess which tech tree it’s in?

Any chance of us getting more bombers in war thunder? There are many bombers that have not been added and bombers have now been nerfed points affect wise to not matter in air rb. Is there any change planned for bombers to become more effective and important again, and when will we see more bomber aircraft? Bomber mains like myself have been flying them since we joined in 2013/14, and would play the game more regularly if more bombers for both the USA., Britain, USSR and China came along. Similarly when can we expect bomber cockpits in warthunder to be fully modeled? Only user made cockpits like that for the He-111 H-6 exist ingame so far.

But Gaijin..if they are so mighty, why do they fall apart so easily in your game?

My grate grandfather was a b24 Bombardier/ nose gunner he was part of the 36th bomb squadron which is misleading because it was the first radar jamming unit in us aviation history

sitting here still waiting patiently for submarines to be added (yes ill wallet warrior them just to use them for custom battles XD) and for Mah b-52 (which should be a premium with a max Altitude spawn just because it would need to be there to actually be able to do anything in top tiers or give them no markers on maps/player ID's so that you'd have to radar lock them or visibly see them to make them viable and again I'd wallet warrior those for customs :D )

B52, B36, AC130 gunship... Time to up the bomber game guys, you need to do something about it. 2 reasons why bombers are a pain to play: most of the time you fly alone, bombers' strength comes from numbers, so maybe have give AI companions and don't tell which are real players to the enemy. Second, AI gunners are so inaccurate and useless, but sometimes you have to pilot the plane and you can't shoot, then you die or you don't have the ability to shoot at twp different aircraft. For that, either implement a co-op mechanic in which 2-3 players team up in one plane, or buff the AI gunners. At least increase their engaging distance to at least 500 meters.
