The dumper works fine. If you're using your own dumps, you can play online just fine.

A friend of mine got the dumper, he showed it me and just couldn’t get it to work. Maybe it was defective, but for him it was $65 waste of plastic

Read what the website tells you. You have to follow the instructions to update it with the new firmware first. Then it'll work

I’ve modded my PS3, PS Vita, and 3DS XL. There’s a reason I do not mod anything that is considered relevant in the market right now. PlayStation can tell if I’m using modded hardware, but doesn’t really care about it. Nintendo is a different story and I will likely never mod my Switch at any capacity

And what failed exactly ? Dumper works great with my own dumps

If anything, it's rather pointless in trying to use the flashcart for piracy. You would have an easier time with a modded switch if you're really wanting to sail the seven seas. Though, I've been using my mig switch cartridge only with my own backups nearly exclusively for 4 months now, and haven't been banned yet.

Why does he think he's the only person who has been saying this would be a possibility? Every video I've seen has warned the viewers.. he mentioned other creators supporting the mig switch or piracy.. I've never seen a video like that because they all say NINTENDO WILL COME FOR THEM if they demonstrate or support piracy.. which includes the mig.. they only supported the right to backup a game that they own .

The dumper was already tested, and it works.

So little information on the Nintendo block and notice how the screen is blurred out? Why do they blur the information if that is so important. Notice how there no links to the story. Also blurring stories tells this YT failed as well. So links to the new here? Pirates are different from the ownerships of the games they own. Your making a big leap from owner to pirates discredits this story.

There’s nothing illegal about modding or selling and buying mod chips or the mig switch it’s the way people use them you can mod your switch for a service but don’t install any dumping and or piracy/pirating capable software

if i were Nintendo id do it too.

I just want my dumper to legally back up my games for my PC and steam deck. I did not order a MiG switch cart nor do I care for one.

You should be able to make a backup of your games. People are getting banned because they're dumping roms and getting caught.

The number one rule is to only jailbreak a console or handheld when it stops being supported like the PS vta. I still haven't jailbroken my PS3 yet til Sony stops supporting it.

So the best way to handle getting banned for piracy on a modded switch is get a 2nd modded switch and don't pirate with that. Now you can use a save dumper like jksv to backup all your save data and restore it on the new unbanned modded switch. Basic stuff like modding games, using cheat codes or save data backup is perfect safe on a modded switch. So continue as normal from there As for the banned switch. Don't throw it in the trash. It's actually perfect for more piracy. Format it to remove all account infomation. Add offline accounts and continue pirating. What are nintendo gonna do about it? Ban you? Oh yeah they already did that so they can't any more. I have 2 switches and this is exactly how I have iv been running them like this for about 6 years

@@lockl00p27 Iv never modded smash so I can't say however I have modded, mario kart. Pokemon lets go eevee. Breathe of the wild & skyrim on my still unbanned modded switch. The switch was still connected to the internet too. Basically all my save files are modified. So this is probably untrue. For monster hunter rise. I actually have all the paid cosmetics without paying for them (I paided for the base game & the sunbreak dlc tho). I installed the latest update, the dlc and added all the cosmetics on my banned switch. Transfered my legit save file. And loaded it on the banned switch and that gave me all the paid cosmetics then I just save the game, backed up save and restored back on my unbanned switch and it worked.

Dumping your own games is perfectly legal. People are getting banned because they are pirating widely accessible roms instead of using their own copies. This product does not exist just for piracy, but to make legally backing up your games more accessible. it is not illegal to mod your switch or dump your games that way. Also, they are getting lawsuits for spreading pirated games and spreading hardware for use of pirating. Also also, Nintendo said that pirated games only thrive because of selling the premodded hardware but I think that is absolutely incorrect. Plenty of people mod their switch themselves and then pirate games. Yes, being able to buy premodded stuff helps but I feel like that's not the main source of piracy.

We all knew this was going to happen once the profits came rolling in. Of course it's legal to backup your own games for personal use, it's even beneficial if you want to play your Switch games with better performance on your PC but... Let's not kid ourselves. We all knew people were going to abuse this and dump roms online before it even launched. Personally, I think it's morally reprehensible to pirate roms for current gen games, especially while they're available for sale digitally.

If the games are available to purchase from the company, pirating the software makes you a criminal. Doesn't matter where you're from, or what your country's laws are. A thief is a thief.

If you're going to say it's immoral to break the law by stealing copyrighted material then you should agree it's also immoral to take down legal, noncopyrighted material when there is no legal justification

@@Lost_n_Found_1 how about you educate yourself. The mig website did not host any game roms, it didn't even sell the device, just had links to resellers. There were no grounds to take it down. Nintendo is just doing what they want. I think that's pretty morally reprehensible. Nintendo thinks they can just use money to strong arm the law. How about they spend that legal money maintaining the eshop servers for Wii and Wii U so the people who bought games from the eshop can still play them

Migswitch is useful so I can bring copies of my cartridges with me, all in one cart. For piracy it'll definitely get you banned.

this is what happens when people pirate stuff without doing research. this thing was never meant for piracy. Just because you see dumb ass people act like it is, like this guy, doesn't mean it is. look up how Nintendo's anti pirate measures work and you'll see what it takes to use this tool for piracy. it's not worth the effort when you can just buy a gaming laptop or a steam deck.

I don't care if Nintendo "bans" me from the online servers. Game updates are probably not necessary. I'm not buying anything from their store. I don't play online. They can go after these now but the tech is done, clones will be made, other cards are coming too. Can they go after customers? Maybe. Everyone? No. A few to make examples of them? Yes, if they feel like it. But here's the thing- if I see people on my property to hand me a lawsuit summons for millions of dollars over owning one, then I can assume my life & livelihood are over already so I may as well regard them as trespassers & open fire. If they want to ruin me over a non-issue, I'll turn it into an issue. I'm not buying their games. I don't care who they are. And I'd give it a year before the game companies call piracy "woke" to scare people off from doing it, like I care, I'm already woke because I don't bow down to Republican insanity.

Nah, we need more people reverse engineering Nintendo. Cost them as much as possible, let the PC Decks steal the handheld market, and Nintendo can go under as they should have years ago.

@@chrisman2100 Yea, Nintendo is doing fine without doing anything new or inventive in years. That's the problem. They literally have no competition so they can get away with 2 games a year based on Characters that are losing their nostalgia appeal. They couldn't hack it in the actual console market, and the switch with proprietary software is going to depend entirely on their game development.
