    Thanks Robert. I'm hoping the next Lancaster episode will be the last before the final reveal. Just lots of little jobs to do - I'm hoping it should be ready next week.

    Nice build, considering the quality of the kit. One observation I have to make...the mudguard for the front wheels is not where it should be. It should be opposite, on the back of the wheels

    I find kits like this are a pain, my wife will say "you are a model maker, fix it." I'm building a Cambrian whale kit, oo gauge, for my model railway and it's a pig. I am not enjoying the build 😕but I want a whale for an engineers train. When I was in the Air Force, we had Australian F111s land at the base, being a fireman we had a tour and, like this plane, I noticed the air intakes were really big. You could quite happily have a few beers 🍻 with friends in it. The model looks really good, well done.

    Thanks Guy. Yes, I think this was a combination of not a great kit and a subject that didn't massively inspire me in the first place.

    9:25 that photo reference show the pixeled camo type applied around since 2014. And the kit decal scheme depicts the one used in 2008, camo pattern was diferent to the reference, so the one in the kit is correct. Greetings!!!

    great job, especially for a decent kit, and great job getting the decals to look nice. I you want to build another MIG-29, I strongly recommend the zvezda one, retailing at around $40 aus.

    Thanks for the recommendation. The MIG-29 comes in so many schemes that I think I'll have to build another at some point.

    A beautiful and impressive result to say the least, though I must make one tiny nitpick. When on the ground and with the engines inactive, the intakes on the upper fuselage are closed. They only open when the engines spin up and the anti-foreign-object doors close. This is so that the engines can still get air while the proper intakes are protected from loose debris on the runway (Like dirt or stones in the event that a MiG-29 in wartime had to operate from a rough or unfinished airstrip)

    Awesome build I have seen a few of your other videos and didn't see this one but I like it. One question would it have been possible to alter the vents to make them where they were open for was there not enough plastic.

  • @ModelNerd

    @ModelNerd

    4 жыл бұрын

    Thanks. The plastic was molded closed and I figured cutting them open would make more mess than it is worth.

    Nice MIG-29 model, I've just bought this same version! You didn't need to apply any paint to the aircraft before placing the digital decal right? Greetings from Peru :D

  • @ModelNerd

    @ModelNerd

    Thanks. You need to paint it first, otherwise I'm guessing the decals won't stick well. Plus it will look very plastic-like.

    Yes, the kit details are not great. However, I'm not particularly a fan of buying lots of resin accessories for kits. Gets expensive real quick...
