I was able to replace my 14 year old Miele hose that Miele quoted me $580 for, with a GE part that was $45. Dishwasher works great and it went smoothly. I had to buy a male to make 3/8” pipe thread and 3/8” compression adapter, but that only cost me $5 at the hardware store. This video is a big help for those of us that are a bit mechanical. Especially during the pandemic, when I was never able to even get a Miele rep on the phone, and there are no new dishwashers available.

Excellent video, well explained! IMPORTANT NOTE ALL THE DIY GUYS out there trying to fix your dishwasher/washing machine: Before following the advise in the video, make sure that the aquastop hose is actually really defective before cutting/destroying it, or buying a new valve. I had the same defect characteristics, but my aquastop hose is actually still OK (I unmounted it before, which was tricky on my machine, and tested it). I was close to ordering a new valve and destroying my aquastop hose as shown in the video. I would have been very disappointed to make all these efforts then just to see that this was not the problem.

@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance My issue was the reed contact being misaligned and not counting the waterflow accurately anymore. So the machine thought that there was not enough water coming in, while actually it was.

@@uncle-k3m Interested to know where this reed contact is located and how it should be aligned. Have a similar problem in that the machine is not getting enough water. Have cleaned waterstop inlet filter but found cylindrical, black, foam insert inside filter, which appeared to have gone sticky and didn't look if it would pass much water. Is this part necessary and/or available as a replaceable part?

@@mjhsmjhs black foam could be a filter? The reed contact is on the water inlet system (a large plastic part with channels inside). Below the reed contact is the wheel that gives the impulse. The reed contact needs to be close enough/well fixed.

@@uncle-k3m Thanks for your reply. Will investigate further. The foam didn't appear to be a filter, as it is 3mm in diameter less than the inside diameter of the plastic filter.

The reason the OEM Miele part is so expensive is it has Space Age technology that shuts the valve off if the valve fails thus preventing it from flooding your house if it happens while you're out of town.

Just check the water intake for chalk first. 😱 I replaced my valve since it fitted the symptoms description. No change. Turned out to be the water intake, big plastic container at the left side, that was blocked by chalk.

Hi Scott - I have a Miele Dishwasher with a water intake error - I have done the usual things like checking for obstructions, I replaced with a genuine Miele valve and flow sensor just for good measure, now the error occurs intermittently. Any ideas what else i can check - Thanks in Advance

What is the flow rate for Miele water inlet valve? Do you need to match it with 3rd party water valve? Or Miele dishwasher has a sensor to know there is enough water.

Dishwasher not filling but did not feel vibration of the intake valve. Exposed about 1/8" of each wire on the power supply line and tested with a DVM, expected to see 110V but measured nothing, tried both AC and DC. Seems that my problemm is not the intake valve. Are there fuses or something else to check?

@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance Yes it is and I found the other video that talks about flooding in the drain pan. That was the issue, likely triggered by my wife having an "oops" moment in the kitchen (long story). Once I drained the flooding things started working.

Is the inlet valve 220volts or 110volts?

Depends on where you are located. Check on the big plastic box at the inlet. Should be written.

Hi Scott. My miele G 4225 SCU does not have an external fill valve like your videos show. My dishwasher drains normally, but it won't fill properly. It fills for a few seconds, then stops, then fills, then stops, in a never ending loop. It is driving me crazy. I had an authorized repairman out and he spent two hours trying to figure out what was wrong with it. I have done a factory reset, and it worked - once. Then back to the same problem. Did a couple more resets with no luck this time. I've cleaned the drain valves and filters. No luck. Any ideas?

I would try turning down the water pressure coming to the dishwasher at the wall under the sink . I’ve got the feeling it’s either way high or too low.

@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance thanks Scott. I tried turning it way down and it still didn't work. I have very good water pressure in my kitchen and the dishwasher valve is new. The controller brain on this thing costs about 380 bucks. I've already replaced the filler tube/drain valve assembly. And hired a repairman who spent 2 hours trying to fix it. This thing is possessed.

@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance Just circling back. It ended up being a defective fill sensor. This is a little thing that mounts on the left side under a metal panel. Costs about 27 dollars from miele. Easy to fix, but difficult to diagnose!

@@handyboy2000 Yes. This sounded exactly like reed contact issue. This ome is detecting the magnetic impulses from the wheel that counts the water flow. Mine could be fixed (for now) by just putting back the PCB with the reed contact in the proper position. If it happens again and you know how to use a soldering iron, just buy and replace the reed contact, it should be below 1$

most of the time the problem that the fill vale (miele) is malfunctioning and there is no water coming into the dishwasher. i wish there was a video showing what to do when initial supply of water floods the interior.

It’s the same procedure. The defective fill valve doesn’t close all the way and floods the kitchen.
