I actually like the hard door panels for the simple fact that they are immune to damage from dog claws. This is something I noticed on my 19 Colorado.

I am with Nathan on this one, the Silverado is great, and I love the extra towing but GM did a great job with the new Colorado trail boss

Definitely like it when you guys go out and do shows like this with cars on the road actual hands-on, much preferred. That’s why I brought you so many subscribers. Take care, gentlemen
This is a great video! Great content, great info and by far the two best tfl guys to watch and to learn from, andre and nathan are the best. Roman should just stay in the office lol
Thanks for the video. Just the information I was looking for
when you all jumped into the Silverado you had one of my favorite Ozzy Songs already on... Love it
Love the show outside and hands on boys.
I love this style of review. Trying to find the best off road truck to also be the best hunting camping truck
I bought a $90k truck and I'm mad about the cost of a new $900 hitch. I really want my old rusty one to fit.

I ended up going with a curt adapter and kept my old hitch. Had to wait almost 8 months for it to come in but otherwise a good deal
One important factor for me personally is: Ride Height (measuring from the Pavement to the Seat (the part of the seat where one's buttocks rests on). I generally drive 4 vehicles and these are their Ride Heights (to seat's sitting area)..., '17 Jeep Patriot ~ 24" '17 Ford Transit 350 ~ 40" '11 Dodge Grand Caravan Minivan ~ 31" '17 Honda Civic ~ 19" Thanks again. By the way, I'm Really digging that Chevy Colorado Trail Boss w/ Halogen Headlights. I'll just buy some Yellow Halogen Fog Lights and I'll be all set. I would most likely trade in the Patriot since it has Very Low mileage.
Column shift is the best. 40:37
We could repeat this blog with three representatives from other companies at a lower price point. How about Ridgeline @$40k v Ram 1500 @$55 v Ford f250 gasser at $65k?
Finally! Love this video!
With how big full size trucks are nowadays they are quickly becoming useless as off-road vehicles. It’s just all show now. Wheelbase is too big and the stance is way too wide
If your trucks' paint color doesn't show up well on video, the problem might be in the photography. The use of a CIRCULAR POLARIZER will do wonders to enhance colors by cutting back on bad reflections or ghosting, especially when "dialed in". Just looking at your truck, it looks lighter because of all the light colored reflections.
Normally a 5th wheel hitch is mounted 2” forward of the rear axle to allow some of the pin weight on the front axle. Mounting the 5th wheel behind the axle will unload the front axle but not as much as a travel trailer behind the bumper.
Can’t wait to see all these garage queen trucks in the road
None of them I don't need four doors, I don't need and Automatic transmission,i don't need all the electronic gadgets.
I want the sierra at4 2500 but I have colorado work truck money 💰
great stuff TFL. Do one with Ford, Dodge, Toyota etc

Legit thought Andre was about to say “on that bomb shell” 😂
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Chevy guy these are nice trucks and I like the bumpers and the DSSV components. However, the asking price for all of these is insane. You could aftermarket a build with a base(ish) model, 5.3v8, cold air intake, mild tune, add King/Fox coilovers, mid travel IFS system (UCA's, front axles), deaver leafs or deaver J1's out back, bumpers front & rear, tires & wheels and have an arguably better rig. If you're just looking to cut a check and don't want the fuss of selecting specific components, then I guess these are good options. for a 1500, I'd start with a pre-owned LTZ or High Country with a 6.2 and pick parts and build from there. Would still be leagues away from the $85k msrp build price GM is asking for one configured as shown (Oct '23). keep up the good work TFL.
For people who are buying a truck this is exactly the video they are looking for.
video podcast is a good review.
I don't see the 5 skid plates from the front view
The 33-inch tires on the half ton is a funny choice for an American "extreme offroad truck" because even Australian full-sized 4x4s have 35 or 37 inch tires. After I bought a Base model 2wd 2016 Canyon, I went to a salvage yard and bought 18 inch rims from the 2016 SLT Canyon. The rear tires I am getting are LT285/65R18 (Overall Diameter 32.6 inches) Toyo Open Country A/T III. On the front, I am putting 235/65R18XL (Overall Diameter 30 inches) Toyo Open Country H/T II. When I was a kid, my dad had a late 70s Chev 2wd farm truck with mud terrain tires on the back and street tires on the front. I still like that look on a truck and don't like a leveled truck. My Canyon is a manual and the stock exhaust was so quiet I had to look at the Tach to know when to shift gears. I put a Cherrybomb Vortex muffler on the Canyon, and it not only makes a 4 cylinder sound like an aggressive 6 cylinder but the fuel economy also improved by 3 miles per gallon. I bought a Heads Up Display from Amazon for my Base Canyon and it has an optional infrared/night vision camera (for fog and snowy conditions) and I didn't have to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a Denali.
@tom58792

I would take my 750.16tires any day directional tires like on my 75 k1500
I've owned both and the ZR2 is a superior vehicle on tight trails. Wider in fact, is NOT necessarily better.
I'm with Nathan, I'm sick of these stupidly expensive "luxury" trims. I wish they would send you an LT/elevation like what most people buy.
The only way I would spend over 50K for a truck is if the factory employees are US workers getting paid at least a 100k a year. Otherwise one person's getting super-rich and you're getting ripped off
Much needed refresh, i just wish they went in the Aviator's direction with the new interior instead of trying to adapt a _Cadillac_ interior into the new Lincolns, and without the same attention to detail or craftsmanship. That smaller screen looks aftermarket and tacked on to me. The clear divide between the two screens up on the dash looks cheap and it just doesn’t have the same affect as the Cadillac interiors, but it did raise Lincoln’s prices. Smh 🤦🏽♂️
A better comparison would be with the Half Ton and the Heavy Duty being closer to basic packages.
Full size offroad version form the manufacturer should ve at least have 35's
New Colorados are sweet but me personally having horses I'd go with that Denali ultimate HD. Or if not maybe a denali ultimate DRW I'm more excited for those badboys.
TFL should sell a shirt making light of Andrey’s cruise control gaffe. I’d buy it.

GM blew their opportunity with the ZR2 and the AT4X, for the price it's worth getting a Raptor or a TRX. If they priced those trucks 10k lower they would be a good buy.
@mjareacts2731

Please explain why, because I completely disagree.
@GOFASTER69
Жыл бұрын
@@mjareacts2731 they should've put the LT4 engine in the ZR2/AT4X. The suspension is arguable, but Raptor/TRX both have selectable electronic suspension that change in firmness, where the GM used fancy regular suspension. Only 33 inch tires for GM, where the others are 35 inch with 37 inch option. I do give points to GM for having front locker tho.
@JMNovak1011
Жыл бұрын
Your not getting a TRX/Raptor for under $100k right now. Maybe a base model. With ZR2 you can get a Whipple SC or a Callaway SC602 package and you get 602hp/560tq if you need more power. 35" fit no issues so you can mod yourself. But the ZR2 isn't a desert runner its more of a expedition vehicle.
@GOFASTER69
Жыл бұрын
@@JMNovak1011 That's if you don't do your research for a TRX. There are a few dealers around the country that do 10k off MSRP, cause they order so many. That's how I got my 22 TRX LVL 2 for a little less than 84k. Now Ford on the other hand doesn't allow discounts on the "Ford Performance" vehicles. The dealer would have to take it off their end.
Been working retail from 2013 to now, live at home, pay check to paycheck and use/currently own a 2009 Ranger and 2006 Canyon SLE. I'm in CT and get decent winters (Not phenomenal winters like my parents when in their 20s),but I don't towe yet does torgue help in snowy situations?
Id say that tfl should do a tow - off ( with 7500lbs, off- road challenge, and overall day to day living, with fuel mileage between the Chevy - Colorado/ canyon, Tacoma and the new Ford ranger and see which one is the best bang for your buck??? But I would say 95000 for an at4x sierra 2500 , that's not the real price, the actual price after it hits dealerships is about 20000-45000 over the sticker.
Next video on the expected longevity of each truck
My cap is 50K. I would never spend a penny over 50K for any vehicle otherwise you're getting ripped off because they know you need it
i would want the half ton but only if it offered the new six cyl diesel other wise the mid size PRESTON
What's up Andre and Nathan, I ordered a GMC Canyon AT4 with almost every option. Should be arriving in California very soon. I saw one of your video's where a subscriber wanted to compare the LT Colorado to your Trail Boss. I would love to do a road trip to colorado when I get my AT4 and do a comparison to a Colorado ZR2 if you can get your hands on one. I'm sure you can. I think the AT4 is just as capable. It has everything the ZR2 has with the exception of the Lockers and DSSV shocks. Not sure how to get ahold of you. Don't see any contact info.
Alright how many people have had all 3 sizes of trucks? Midsize is just way to small.
This is a great podcast. Keep up the great work. Nathan your satanic humour is awesome...
Love trucks, sadly, we don't get these here in UK !!! :(
Please add the last 3 generations to this type of pic just to show the size difference as time has progressed
Wish you guys did more cheap trucks. Hopefully this "offroad" trend ends soon. I dont go offroad, have no intention of doing so nor do I wanna look like i go offroad because im not a poser yet all trucks an every lot for any brand I go to is all offroad trucks or has offroad packages equiped. I just want cheap, reliable and basic
I believe on the Colorado/ Canyon, The rock sliders are not mounted to the frame but body. Curious if the half ton is for sure mounted to frame? I would feel more comfortable with it mounted to frame. Correct me if im wrong. Good videos!
it's a cool car especially the door
ZR2 is a beautiful truck but over 100K here in Canada.

I think this format needs to stay on one of the video channels. When I listen to the pod cast it’s cause im doing something where I can’t watch video. Like working or driving.
I like the Chevy 2500 a lot, my only issue is the seats are awful, they're too narrow in the front and feel like sitting on a brick.
There is a lot of plastic up front on the colorado trailboss . Pretty much the entire front face is plastic which may be good for offroad but looks kind of cheap
Truck prices are just plain stupid at this point. Idiots buy one as a status symbol and the average person who wants something for utility gets priced out of one.
