Their performances are both emmy-worthy and The Emmys need to pay attention to Mike Flanagan's shows because they're some of the best limited series to come out in recent years but because they're categorized as "horror", they don't get taken seriously even though I see them as dramas with horror elements.

Hamish was the standout for me, he was phenomenal and sold every monologue, like it was from the heart. His passion and knowledge of the bible was so believable.

Hamish is an underrated actor!!! He better get more roles more of everything!! I don’t really got a favorite actor but I can honestly say he is my top!!

Absolutely loved Samantha Sloyan's performance. She disappeared in that role as a religious zealot.

She honestly reminds me so much of Marcia Gay Harden in the Mist. It's honestly terrifying how good both Marcia and Samantha are at portraying such characters. Samantha definitely needs to be properly recognized for her work on this series by awards.

Hamish was absolutely captivating. So complex, dark and interesting. Samantha plays such a despicable and hatable character, but she does it so freakin’ well, you can’t help but be impressed by the performance.

All the actors were great, but these two in particular deserve an Emmy.

She looks 30ish here but early 50 ish in the series. Such a transformation. Kudos to her. I respect their craft and the effort they invest

In my mind, one of the marks of a great actor is when you really hate their character. Samantha's portrayal of Bev was perfect. Everything down to her subtle facial expressions was on point.

Samantha deserves every acting award for this role. She’s just amazing.

The fact Bev had such a grip over the school and the church is terrifying. The key institutions of information and influence

Splendid, artful, handmade, poetic, well acted show, Hamish Linklater and Samantha Sloyan and the rest of cast with Mike Flannagan did marvelous. You don't need Emmys here. The actors are awards splattered on the show itself. Such a delight to watch.

I would sue if Samantha Sloyan or Hamish Linklater didn’t get an Emmy nod. Also Hamish Linklater is so hilarious and cheerful in here lol, very opposite from Father Paul and Sloyan looks so pretty.

Linklater and Sloyan's acting in this blew me away. They should be getting awards for this. The acting all round in this series was brilliant.

On many Beverly scenes I just was amazed on how of a good actress she is

The humbleness of these magnificent actors is staggering. And Sam Sloyan has this sweet, huggable quality in real life that is so surprising to me, because before I had only seen her as Monster Bev. She is one hell of an actress.

Hamish's acting is some of the best ive ever seen in a tv show, and Ive watched a ton of them. Great stuff.

These two were just beyond words with their performance. It took the show to a different level.

I wish that was a show about only father Paul/Monsenhor and the Vampire. Like after they met and the journey through Middle East until the arrival on the Island.

Sloyan absolutely KILLED it! And I know I was supposed to hate her character, but every time she was on screen I couldn't get past how beautiful she looked even though she wasn't supposed to look beautiful. . .If that makes sense

Samantha Sloyan is fast becoming one of my fave actresses in the game. I think the Flanaverse has really highlighted how incredibly versatile because every performance is SO different to the point where I totally forgot that she was in Hill House. I’m genuinely in awe of her and I hope we see more.

hamish and sam were truly incredible. i havent stopped thinking about them since i finished watching it. i really hope to see them both in future mike projects because theyre absolutely amazing 💗

Hamish was he acting or was it really him!!! He really made me question about me going to church again!! Found him in battleship but Damb in this series!!!

Great interview. With these two excellent performers, it's interesting that you can argue, that Father Paul - perhaps- misinterprets *something* that happens to him on his journey and Bev - perhaps misguided - misinterprets Pauls intentions with what he's trying to achieve on the island. I'm trying not to spoil anything here. :)

Right in the begging of this interview when she says "this whole time is just gonna be me praising your performances", OKAY ME

Watching these two was such an incredible experience. I just LOVED watching them, especially their scenes together, they owned their roles and played opposite each other flawlessly. They carried that show with ease.

Their wonderful and fascinating acting made me stay overnight to watch the episodes after work. Season 2 expected!!!

Man, I didn't expect Hamish to be so funny! Dude is MAGNETIC, and he just seems like such a goofball at heart. Which probably makes it so much easier to work with him on something so dark and disturbing. Like, if he was a big stone wall, it'd probably have gotten tough at times to work with him. But Hamish seems so silly that it probably made every day so fun. And Sam seems like such a sweetheart which is amazing considering her character is so effing evil. Like, Bev encouraged everyone to turn, and then bitch thought she was getting away. I cheered out loud when Erin didn't let her finish and just busted a cap in her. Which tells you she did a phenomenal job

If we are speaking about Emmy winning performances let's speak on Erin's last monologue as she laid dying in the grass....NOW THAT WAS EPIC !!! Kate is an amazing actress !!!

I grew up heavily Catholic but haven't been to church since I was 15 and the church scenes were so spot on it gave me shivers. My husband asked if anything was inaccurate I said no "except that he's wearing the fancy outfit and she literally just said it's ordinary time" and then that was a plot point?? Loved this series.

AMAZING performances. The religious overtones got too literal and the pacing way too snail-like, but Hamish’s subtle movements and moments of detail and Sam’s cadence with the Bible quotes made this show! I really hope these two get Emmys for their performances
